Hi all, I’m sure I read on here that you could buy a padding to put under the mattress to help with comfort and disguise the slats. Have tried search but unable to find anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks
Geoff

Thanks Jim, the topper is good. However one of the issues is the bed is over the garage and seems to be getting cold from base ( it’s a friend’s Bailey they are having issues with) . I had in my mind a thread that had discussed this issue and someone had recommended a product that was put on top of the boards under the mattress. This improved the comfort but also cut out the cold draft from the garage door area.
Thanks again 👍

I think that would be me. I fitted 25mm Celotex sheet under the bed slats and pipe insulation down by the side's to completely insulate the cold garage from the cab. I can send you photos tomorrow

Hi Geoff a memory foam mattress topper will sort you out, don't buy a cheap one though or you'll get hot. Raskelf are the best by miles, these are sold/rebranded by the duvalay people. https://www.duvalay.co.uk/mattress-toppers/comfort-mattress-topper

You won't regret it (y)
They seem to be very good but I can’t understand the pricing If you are after singles. One is £155 but a small double is only £5 more and a full double £25 dearer. Doesn’t sound fair really, I wouldn’t perhaps expect double the cost but £25 seems far too low and I then wonder if the £155 is really worth it.

Don't laugh, but big sheets of cardboard under the bed stops draughts and can be used to improve the firmness of a mattress. There is more than one reason homeless people search out cardboard boxes to sleep on/in

As most others have suggested memory foam And you could cut it to suit you. Comes in assorted thicknesses .

I would think a couple of layers of decent cardboard under the mattress would cut the cold down but it will need replacing fairly regularly as it will break down.
The topper under the mattress sounds ok. What about the hard foam exercise mats cut to size?

We have the same layout. My fix was self inflating mattresses on the slats. They can also be used in the summer to lay out on reclining chairs, or just on the ground.

My Burstner 690G.

Only a thin sheet of ply between the garage roof and the beds. They also left a gap at the sides down into the garage to heat the garage - see the corrugated pipe around the bed.
I have nothing in the garage that needed to be kept warm - I prefer all the available heat to be kept in the cab
