Under drawer heater duct?

I removed the kitchen drawers from our recently acquired Campscout in order to install an external gas BBQ point. I noticed this small blown air

heater? duct with holes in it which look as if they have been put in on purpose.
Does anyone know if it actually is a heater duct and if so, why its there?

Hi, yes I've seen it. I assumed that it was there to provide heating to the kitchen cupboard. Since it's next to the door, it could get quite cold...? I haven't tested it by running the heated while I've got the drawer out to see if it is actually connected .

I think mine had the same holes. I think I saw that somewhere else and I thought that it might to allow heat out along the hose... like a soaker hose for the garden.

Ok. I just think it’s odd to just leave an open end. You must loose a far bit of the fans force through it.

I totally agree, the holes look deliberately made to me, but heated kitchen drawers?? Weird.

Agreed. Not sure it will have much benefit but that was the only reason I could think of.

As I said, not sure it's connected - have you tried it? Could it be part of the winter pack but pre-installed? I find the sliding door v cold in winter so it could be a cold spot in v cold weather.

No different to the bigger outlets around the rest of the van, unless, of course, they're closed.

Most of my heat ducting goes along with my water pipes to protect then during cold times, which makes sense. But just an open end

We have similar duct with holes along side our beds so may be deliberate but if the end is open then I don't see the point.

Does any air come out at all?

No different to the bigger outlets around the rest of the van, unless, of course, they're closed.

But you get a choice with them, and they are heating a used area. I wouldn’t want hot kitchen cupboards

Our ducting in a few places round the van is pierced in the same way its to give some warmth all around the van

It's a very common hose that many German made vans use

It could be a cold air supply duct which provides a flow of cold air from the door area of the van to the Truma boiler cavity.

As you say though, see what happens when you next fire it up.
