UK red butane gas bottle. In Spain options

As the title says I have two red 6k butane uk gas bottles and Im based in Spain right now foe most of the year

What are my options to get them refilled

Or do I have to buy a spanish bottle etc

If so some advice would be great

Just buy a Spanish bottle and use that, not difficult to get.

The price of small bottles is regulated in Spain.

its around €14

Bigger garden centres and feratias (hardware stores) will have it.

You may need a NIE, Spanish address or similar. Depends where you go.

If my calor gas bottle empties whilst in Spain is it easy enough to change over to Spanish bottles? Buy a suitable pigtail and connect it up? Not sure how long my 15KG bottle will last but would be good to know what I would have to do in the future if it does empty.

I was in your situation not long ago. First of all are you sticking around the same area? If you are, there are places that refill UK bottles -

this is one is Estepona and Marbella: http://gasbottlerefill.com/

If you are touring then you are probably as well checking out the 2nd hand shops and buying a Spanish bottle. You will also need a connector for it and they can be picked up easily from hardware stores and most campsite shops have them. They are about 12 euros or something I think.

Not sure about 6kg Spanish bottles though. Have you got space for a bigger bottle in your locker?

When I was overwintering in Spain, we obtained a Repsol cylinder (circa 13kg, from a Flea Market about £5 in pesatas) and used a device known as an "Extenda-Stay". This allows the External Cylinder to be connected to your system by a High Pressure hose.
