Hi all, do any of you stay at the same site over winter (out of season) in the UK,,and what are you charged,,,Kind regards Paul & Pippa...

If you do a search there was a site over Great Yarmouth way that was offering long term winter pitches at quite good rates. It was on here not to long ago.

My son and his girlfriend pay about £20 a night with electric hookup.

There are cheaper fields available but, as they both still work, they have to be near main roads.

Callow Top in Ashbourne are offering winter seasonal pitches for £625. Nov to March. BUT, they don’t want you to use electric for your main heat source and facility blocks are closed. Toilet emptying, water and waste available.

We paid £14 pn with 16amp leccy in Burnley while my carer was working, now we pay €360 pcm in Spain. ?

That could of been my post about The Hollies, Kessingland. Unfortunately they have now changed there opening dates and close around 6 January, it’s a shame because they did offer 4 months (November to February) for £600.
I’m booked on there for November and December at £150 per month.

We full time in our motorhome. Up till the end of March this year we had a year-round seasonal pitch on a very nice campsite near Thetford in Norfolk. Was £2400 for the year with hookup, a lot of money but the pet night cost worked out quite cheap.

In 2020 we will be spending the Winter in south of Spain.

If that was free EHU then it was about equivalent to Council Tax plus Electricity bill in a house.

Yes, they also have very nice showers etc. We had nothing to pay at all apart from our yearly pitch fee.

Yes we have
Solar is pretty much useless from October to May
Gas can get expensive for heating as we have used a 13kg in 3 days, used to run a Honda eu20i rather than the onboard generator as it would run all evening on much less fuel .
We have a Ring 50 amps smart charger rather than using the normally pretty useless onboard chargers .

Always pay to have hookup in the winter, it's a price I don't mind paying adds around £3 per night

Almost 11 years of fulltiming. I always get a hookup for 3-4 months of the year as solar just doesn't cut it.

We've been doing a mixture of campsites, CL's, britstops and just started house minding. Cheapest cl £6.50 per night with leccy. Quite a few are £12 ish. Campsite is about £23 per night but near my ill relative. The house minding is free ( and we don't charge) had 10 days this month and about 10 next month. Great for getting the washing done in the winter and we quite enjoyed it.
