Hi we just north of Pau heading for the Somport Tunnel. We have had a puncture, Nationwide's breakdown assistance were briiliant, got a guy to ous in 30 minutes. He changed the tyre but said the spare was in poor condition and shouldn't be used on the highway and should be replaced striaght away.
Can any one recommend a tyre supplier in Pau or near by. I need two as the puncture is not repairable, see picture. 7 years old and 45k miles.
Many thanks for any help.

You could try Euromaster. I’ve ordered on line and fitted at a Euromaster

That isn't a puncture. It looks like the tyre has split due to age /degradation

Manic the problem is the web site language I can find the tyres and the price get them into my basket. But I can't get the location or if and when they will be there.

Norauto web site say availability is 18 Mar.
Thats no good.

Nationwide euro assistance gave me a long list of phone numbers we tried most but none spoke any english. Tomorrow we will go to Euromaster and point to the tyres or write down the size. I hope they write back the date and price.

Thanks for all your help.

When I first moved to France I wasn‘t confident in French so used google translate and wrote down the gist of what I wanted to say.
If you can do this, write the problem and how you want it resolved.
Carry a pen and paper and just ask “le prix?” And give him/her the pen and paper. A lot of smiles and merci beaucoup goes a long way. I always found garage /tyre/ CT places really helpful.

There is also a Norauto at Lescar, near Pau. You can check for your tyre size online Broken Link Removed. I haven't followed it up but you can probably get an idea if they have them in stock, or a delivery time.

We used Norauto when we had a tyre problem, a bit like Halfords and there used to be plenty so you are never very far from a store

Yes the norauto web site is easier than Euromaster but it tells all makes and flavours of my 215/70 R15 tyres are not available until the 17th or 18th of March.
I'll try elsewhere before using them.

I’ve tried a Norauto when I had a puncture, took the wheel in and they said they couldn’t do it and sent me to Euromaster.

Any help ?

Seeing the state and age of that tyre if all 4 are the same age I would definitely replace all 4.

I did need a tyre which I ordered on line to be fitted at French Euromaster, I did have to use a friends French address to enable me to order via Broken Link Removed

Maybe its me but after really good try with this web site I failed to get it to look for camper tyres
Sorry, I just order tyres for the base vehicle, I'm running continental vanco 4 seasons on a sprinter based MH, the OEM were Continental vanco but I nearly lost the lot on a bend in light snow.

Just to follow, after great help from funsters as usual.
When to Euromasters this morning, the guy on reception said he had a little english, he then dealt with my query in perfect english.
The outcome was that he arranged to get me 3 Mitchelin camper tyres for tomorrow.
Continentals would take untill Tuesday.
Hopefully I shall be through the Somport tunnel tomorrow evening.
Another win for Fun.
