Hi,
Just wondering if anybody knows what the tyre pressure should be on a Autotrail Cheynne 634 on a Fiat Ducatti as the tag on the door frame is missing?

Search the forum, lots of into re; tyre pressures.
 
You need to know your travelling axle weights, tyre specifics then email the tyre manufacturer to get the real answer.
However, there are Web pages that give an idea.
 
Might also be worth looking in your user manual. With mine:
Door Pillar (Fiat) says 5.5 Bar front and back
Dethleffs Manual states (based on max plated axle weights of 1950/2000) 3.5 Bar Front / 4.25 Bar rear - confirmed by Dethleffs
Tyresafe gave 3.92 Bar Front / 5.5 Bar rear

A bit of a minefield, and for Michelin CP tyres, Tyresafe seems to always come up with 5.5 Bar rear irrespective of the axle load

I am now running at 4.0 Bar front, 4.5 Bar rear and its a great improvement in handling and comfort on the previous 5.5 Bar all round that the dealer advised (as per door pillar)

I agree, I was just doing mine last night as my son came round to help brining his compressor which save me going to the petrol station where it’s always tricky.
When we first had this van and took it fully laden to weighbridge, I phoned Continental technical department to get correct pressures.
A very helpful man told me 3.25 bar on front and 3.0 bar on rear.

Well, to me, a complete layman, and a woman to boot :ROFLMAO:, the tyres at these pressures, even unloaded, just look “wrong” far too bulgy.
I have tried 4 bar but again quite a bulge so settled on 4.5 bar as a compromise. I had them at 5.5 bar all round for the winter layup.
i really wish there was a definitive answer but I just want to be safe over comfort.

They are suggesting only 59 psi - 4 bar in the front tyres. Not 80psi - 5.5 bar
They recommend 5.5 bar in the rear -
I run them at 5 bar all round.

What's happening?

What's happening?
I think it’s because Michelin designed their CP tyres to run at those pressures regardless of axle weight. They have very stiff inflexible side walls and don’t act like normal tyres, in that, you have to get the right pressure to get the tread to sit correctly on the road. I think this is the reason they crack on the walls because some run them with lower pressures and side walls can’t cope with constantly flexing.
Best option is stay clear of Michelin CP tyres.

With my Michelin’s the Hymer manual says 4.5 bar all round for my size tyres.

I just used that website too, for fully laden weighbridge weights
It suggests 3.56 bar front and 4.08 bar rear.
At these pressures, there is a real bulge on the tyres, (continental campers) is that right ?
 
When I changed to Contis years ago I emailed them for the correct pressures. I've used those ever since through several tyre changes (well over 100,000 miles) and never had a problem that couldn't be attributed to external damage - i.e. just one slow puncture due to a screw through the tread (in Morocco but that's another story). Tyrepal monitor keeps an eye on things for me.

They do look a little soft but at higher pressures the ride is very hard. Oh yes - 56psi front 65psi rear on 3850kg mauw.

I had a set of Contis on the last van and found them much better than the Michelins fitted to this new van
I'll fit Contis next time.
My tyres seem to be running all right at 5 bar and not too harsh a ride.
Although it seems the Contis are better at lower pressures.
