Hey. Picked up motorhome from dealer with tyre pressure 60psi all round. The tyres has 69psi stamped but the sticker inside the door says 72psi front, 75psi back. Which one?

The 69 on the tyre is probably max pressure, 60 all round is a good place to start, what was the ride like on the trip home if it banged a bit let some out

I think you will find that the 69psi refers to usage in the USA for some reason that someone else will hopefully explain.

Tyres on our new van are the same....max 69psi, but there is also something about going up to 5.5bar.

The door sticker say 5bar front, 5.5bar rear, that’s what I put them at.

Why they make it so hard to work out I have no idea.

Ours are the same and, unfortunately fitted with TPMS set at 5.1 bar. Running them at lower pressures, as indicated by axle weights, leads to continual “tyre pressure low” warning lights showing on all four wheels.

On the Peugeot it is impossible to reset the TPMS to the correct pressure yourself, a Peugeot dealer has to do it. I read on the Forum previously that someone had been quoted almost £200 for what should be a simple computer tweak by the workshop.

We are running at 58psi front and 64psi rear with the warning lights on. 5.1 bar equates to almost 80psi which is like driving on steel tyres.

Just out of interest, as anyone had a MOT failure because the TPMS light is on.

I’ve read somewhere that it’s a major now and not minor.

Shouldn't be ANY warning lights showing for MOT but before a certain date (don't know the date) TPMS was not a requirement in law and if fitted didn't have to work for MOT.

Check out the other threads on this subject, you should get to a weighbridge and have both axles weighed then contact your tyre maker they will give you the correct pressures.

However, if you read the notes it appears you should follow the advice in your vehicle documents.

The sticker on my vehicle states 5 bar front and 5.5 bar rear.......so that’s what I’m sticking to.

On the wall of the tyre it gives max cold pressure of 69psi. However, further around the wall it states....’Due to the special service conditions of Motor Caravans it is permitted to increase the inflation pressure. PERMITTED MAXIMUM PRESSURE 5.5bar’

The bold lettering is on the tyre, not me trying to emphasise anything.

Checked it out today at MOT garage.

All vehicles after 2014 fitted with tpms should be working and no lights on, it’s now a MOT failure.
So I’ve inflated mine to the Peugeot set limit and the lights gone off.

after the MOT I will deflate them again and the light will be on for another year.

Last time I did this it took about 100 miles to reset.

Although I said before, the door pillar label states.....5 bar front, 5.5bar rear.......I’ve been going through the owners manual again and found this........

Appears I need to drop my front pressures to 4.75, but the rears stay at 5.5.

Thought I'd share a solution to the common MH dilemma of running the Ducato/Boxer/Relay MH van at excessively high tyre pressures that shake your fillings out, or dropping them to the correct lower pressure and letting the TPMS alarm whinge about flat tyres. I had these guys http://carnetic.co.uk/, local to me in West Yorkshire, come out and their Autel kit allowed the pressures to be adjusted to the correct figure in my 2019 Peugeot software. Like many with 215/70R15CP Continental tyres, the appropriate pressure for the (weighbridge checked) weight is 51/65 (3.5/4.5 BAR) not 72/80 psi (5.0/5.5 BAR). They are ex-Peugeot main dealer techs and very polite, professional and friendly. Might be of use to others if you are local enough.

I'm not associated with them in any way and of course, other organisations are available etc.
