Hi I have a Brooklands smart car trailer. I purchased this second hand. All in good condition. My smart car weight a approx750 kg. Can someone please let me know the correct pressure for the tyres. I have tried with the makers and dealer and the Internet. I think I have got it right at 58 psi with different answers. Thank you martin

My BJ trailer has a sticker on the side which says 72psi for my particular trailer, I would put in enough air so that it bounces when empty.:)

Thank you for your speedy reply. My trailer as a plate with 40 psi i think this is for a unloaded trailer. Yours martin

The pressure depends on a number of things - including tyre size. If your trailer has a manufacturers plate and is on the correct size tyres then 40psi will be for the trailer fully loaded.

A simple tip for all tyres. After a decent run feel each tyre tread, if just warm its about right, quite hot = too low and stone cold could be a bit high. Hope this makes sense.

On the side wall of every tyre it give the maximum pressure you can use on that tyre it will also give the maximum load, generally as single and dual use, the dual use refers to double wheels as on a truck. From that you should be able to work out a sensible tyre pressure and equate that to the weight of the car and trailer. Too high a pressure you will wear the centre of the tread out and lose grip - too low you will wear the edges out and lose grip so essential to get it about right. If all else fails then contact @Brian and Jo who runs a tyre business and is VERY knowledgeable about tyres and pressures

Thank you all for your advice I'm sure I will get the tyre pressure right with your help

Thank you all i think 60psi will do the job
