hymer 1997
Hi. Bought a hymer 1997 the other month. All cooker, oven working fine, however boiler doesnt seem to be heating up. Red Light comes on and stays on permenant when I switch it on. Not left it on with no water in so not burnt out. Any suggestions what it could be? Or how to do a reset of the system? Thanks

Check you have sufficient gas, even if other gas appliances work ok, the boiler has a higher demand and if the bottle is getting low it sometimes causes a fail and red light comes on.

I know it’s a silly question but have you turned the gas tap on for the boiler, if it’s the same as my 2001 B584 there’s a row of taps under the sink.

Working on memory here - select water only, select lower temp, turn off for 30 minutes, turn on and fingers crossed all ok. If not I would suspect the burner and suggest you get an expert to have a look.

Is there a cover on the outside of the van over the Exhaust outlet that needs removing ? The other thing you could check is to see if there is a safety cut off switch fitted to any window that may be above the outside outlet of the heater.(these are not always fitted)

Made sure both gas bottles where full, disconnected the gas pipe to the boiler to make sure the gas was getting through and cleaned the connecting part on boiler when I re connected the gas and it worked! Woo thanks all for comments and advise x
