I have a couple of the LevelControl senders attached to my 13kg propane cylinders, they’re a great idea in theory, not a cheap purchase and I’m very disappointed at their reliability. I’ve got them connected via the Truma iNet box so they should work.

App settings
There is no default 13kg tank weight in the app settings, you have to enter your own, given the popularity of the 13kg in the UK it seems that we’re the poor relation to the rest of Europe where the larger tanks aren’t used?

App instructions
When I initially attached them to the base of the two gas tanks the included instructions were confusing, one said they should be attached in the centre of the tank bases, on the same page another said they should be attached clear of the concave dimples, which are in the centre of the tanks!

Too flakey in use
I found that by moving the senders around I could eventually get a reading, unfortunately after each tank change it’s become a right performance getting them to send any meaningful info. As expected one of the tanks sits behind the other in the gas locker, both are quite heavy (28kg full) & difficult to get into position, so after messing about locating the senders to get a reading when the tanks are in the ground I then lose it when the cylinders are in the locker. The only fix I’ve found is to remove both cylinders from the locker, remove the senders from the tanks, take the batteries out, and reverse the procedure, a right performance. I’ve had to do this several times on each tank change so am losing any confidence in them.

To be fair to Truma their technical folk have been quite helpful, I even sent back the first pair I had as I thought they were faulty, which they replaced under warranty. It was clear from my exchanges with them they weren’t aware of the conflicting instructions I brought to their attention, so the original one weren’t faulty at all.

Has anyone had similar experiences with them or any tips on how to get a reliable
reading?

Bump - can anyone share their experience with these?
