Trouble logging on to this site

Maybe Sky Shield thinks MHF is an 'adults only' site!!!!

That's the problem when people against the rules here post politics outside the belly locker or they post risqué jokes or images, and I don't delete or move them quick enough. That's a risk we take. It's not funny. If the major internet providers block us, we might as well just switch the server off, because no one will be able to log in.

Something like this.

Hello,
I am a Sky Broadband customer and I am unable to access a website called MotorhomeFun (motorhomefun.co.uk). It works fine on my mobile data and on other connections, so it appears Sky Broadband Shield is blocking it.
MotorhomeFun is a motorhome community and information site with no adult content, so it should not be filtered. Please could you check why it is blocked on my connection and have it reviewed and allowed.
Thank you,

Jim

I swapped to sky for my broadband a few weeks ago & have been using the laptop & phone with no problems. But on 1st June I couldnt get Fun to load on my phone, I assumed it was down as it went on all day.

Eventually I tried on the laptop & got a message saying MFN had been blocked by Sky shield for the following reason 'dating' & if I wanted to continue to the site I should alter the settings in shield which I did & it's been fine.

I started to type this reply yesterday but then saw the clearing cache comment & thought it must be that causing the ops issue

My apologies for my joke. I had no idea that my joke may have had any truth in it, nor that such postings etc had these potential consequences and outcomes.

I have followed your guidance anyway and all resolved now at my end.

To add to the mix.

Since 1 June intermittent access to MHF, mostly error messages saying unable to connect to server MHF

Using Safari Version 26.5 (21624.2.5.11.4) [updated on 2 June]. On macOS Tahoe 26.5 updated on 1 June.

Connected to SKY super fast broadband, after switching to a BT mesh and back to SKY.
With browser opened with many tabs, unable to log in to MHF.
Open a new browser window in 'Private' with only tab on MHF, it runs.

On Firefox won't open MHF server not found connected via SKY.

Unable to open MHF on iPhone 13 iOS version 26.5 using Safari connected to SKY, BT mesh. But on 4g MHF opens.

Seemingly Rupert is being a tw4t :cool::(:rolleyes:

But back on MHF now (y) lots to catch up and get sorted for Lyndon Top in a few weeks.

Hi Jim, sorry to hear this but it does sound as though Sky are going way over the top here, there doesn't seem to be a problem with any other ISP. Even the anti malware/spyware/privacy stuff on my PC is not getting upset with MHF.

Sky was a TV (satelite) broadcaster.

They haven't got the hang of the Internet, yet.

I’ve added MHF to the list of allowed websites on sky broadband shield in settings, and it now works.

We’ve a 13 year old so I don’t want to disable Shield - lord knows what would happen if we disabled it! Probably a Minecraft infestation!

Sky have got back to me, hopefully they will sort it soon.

Hi Jim

Case reference: []

Thanks for getting in touch.

We have passed the details of the website to our content provider to ensure that the correct category is assigned to the site.

Should there be any Sky Broadband Shield users having problems accessing the site, they can either change the age restriction level or alternatively they can add your site to the allowed websites list which allows access to this site even if the category is restricted.

Once we have a reply from our content provider then we will be back in touch. However, if you have any further questions or concerns, please get back in touch, you can contact us directly by responding to this email.

Kind regards,

Jo

Could someone who is having issues log in to their Sky account, turn their Broadband Shield off (or drop it to the lowest setting), and retry. Thanks. This will help our detective work.
Hi Jim
I just followed your advice, went onto my Sky Shield and added this website as one I do not want blocked and yay I’m in on my iPad 😃
How random that is started just a few days ago, I’m happy now, I found it difficult following you all on my iPhone, much easier on my iPad. Thank you
I hope others try your advice and sort it out 😃

Without going through all that boring tech stuff above i was the same, ie could not log on. Turns out it is our internet provider Sky blocking it.
So i now (this am) use my Hot Spot on my phone.
Thank you Mrs Bob for that.

Anyone know if Sky are going to fix it so i can get back to normal.
At the mo i'm having to switch off the normal internet thing (Sky) and put my Hot Spot on every time. then reverse it to get back to normal looking.

Try Jim’s advice, it worked for me, go into your Sky account search Broadband Shield and you can enter the full website address of this site and “allow” the site, there are some other boxes you can tick, untick etc relating to the types of site you are allowing permission for…I’m no techno but I managed it, good luck

Woman has sorted it.
All back to normal..................bugger, that's the gardening put on the shelf.

have Switched the Sky Shield on again and the problem has returned!

Hi, any chance you could check to see if we are still blocked? I'd really appreciate it if you could. (y)

Hi Jim, working perfect, once I added this website as one to allow on my Sky broadband shield it has been perfect since, thank you 😊

I'm interested to know: what happens if we are not whitelisted. If someone has not touched their Sky Broadband Shield, can they reach us or are we still blocked. Can anyone check?

Hi Jim,

I have gone in to Sky Shield and changed the screening for each of the age groups in turn as well as switching it off - and all seems good when I try yo get into Motorhome Fun!

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks. Hopefully that means that people who haven't edited their Sky Shield at all, will be able to find us.
