We are travelling from Portsmouth across to France in the next couple of months in our motorhome. We would like to spend a few days at Jersey and/or Guernsey on the way. The ferry companies imply that 6.5 metres is maximum length of the van . Does anyone have information on this and also the camping parks available..their access etc on these islands.

Having visited the (beautiful) channel islands (by air), I don’t think I would want to be there in anyth8ng much bigger than that anyway TBH

Presently, Guernsey does not accept caravans and motorhomes can only be taken to the island if they have a permit and are less than 6.9 metres long. ... If you would like to take a motorhome to Guernsey, you must contact the campsite of your choice and they will arrange your site booking and permit for you.
Taking your caravan or motorhome to Jersey. Visitors to Jersey are welcome to bring a caravan, motorhome, campervan, folding camper or trailer tent to the Island provided a permit is obtained prior to arrival. You must stay on a registered campsite and for a maximum of 31 days.

Jersey is no place for a motorhome, I traveled around in a fiesta and still there was lots of reversing and manoeuvres to pass other vehicles on narrow lanes.
Lovely island and we'll worth a visit but leave the motorhome behind.

Took our 6m pvc to Guernsey a few years ago to attend a wedding and spent most of the time mounting the kerbs. The kerbs are deliberately very low and I noticed that nearly all the cars had damaged wheel trims.
As said you book a pitch and get a permit for the ferry.
Would not even consider going again.
