HI all, we travel to spain at the end of this month Portsmouth to Bilbao for six weeks can anyone advise in plain English the current requirements to get back into the UK we are both double jabed, the test 48 hours before travel I am most concerned about as we will probably be travelling ? how where any recommendations

There are lots of places in Spain that do the required testing. Depends on where you are in your last 3 days of the trip, currently it is 72 hours.

The entry requirements back into Britain depend on where your final destination is as Wales and Scotland are different from England and it is your final arrival point that sets the UK testing requirements, not the point of entry
The requirements are changing all the time so what will be required in 8 weeks time no-one can tell.
2 weeks ago an EU vaccination cert was not accepted by England now it is. It is very much a case of see whats what at the time.

As of now, you need nothing more to enter except the Spanish maritime locator form, and your nhs pass.

To return to England ( Wales/Scotland may be different) you need a test taken abroad ( antigen or PCR ) within 3 days of departure of the return ferry, have booked a day 2 U.K. approved PCR test and got a ref.no. and complete the U.K. passenger locator form.

No quarantine either side.
