Hi
I'm planning to travel to Santander next week. Has anyone experience of how thoroughly they check campervans for food?

From our experience, not at all.
It begs the question, how are you entering Portugal?
If you are entering from another EU country, and I can't work out how you could get in, any other way, then they are hardly likely to stop you because logistically UK camper vans form a small sample of peeps crossing the border.

And, in any case, I doubt the Portuguese would even contemplate searching the Brish for a wayward saugage roll.

Happy to help
We entered Spain via Santander on the 26/02/22 no checks at all, even the scanning of the dogs was done by passing the scanner to us to do.

Lots now
They didn't on the 15th January. The only vans that had to stop where vans with pets.

Since 2012
We crossed into France in early Jan and no checks at all, then crossed into Spain and then Portugal, again with no checks at all for food (or anything) đź‘Ť
