Travel Journal app with tracker

I’m lazy, but I’d like to record in detail our various trips - with details and photos.

Has anyone got recommendations for a good travel journal app?

A critical function is automatic location tracking as we drive round/stop.

GoogleMaps/Timeline would be ideal, but it doesn’t handle multiple devices well. It keeps adding in 800 mile/10 minute round trips to home that can’t be edited/deleted.

I’ve tried RVCompanion (Not worth a penny, leave alone £4.99). I’m trying PolarSteps but the tracking isn’t automatic, and the place names are too generic. I’m too lazy to log every stop properly.

Anyone using a good one, or have I found a gap in the market?

It almost does. The tracking is good enough, but the place names are too generic. Everywhere it logs a stop,in the Western Isles seems to be just labelled “Western Isles”. I’m being picky, but I’d like more detail. Place names are available to a significant degree of detail from all the major mapping apps.

Unless I’m missing a setting somewhere?

Can’t find anywhere in settings as to what map data it uses. You can overwrite the post location within the ‘step’ posting information

Been using Polarsteps for our trip 3 weeks in, first time ive used anything like that. Seems accurate with the places weve stopped apart from a a couple of return journeys across France and back between one step.
Good for photos and tracking.

Have a look at Capture 365, it’s like a travel diary, records date. Time, weather, location, add photos to each day along with text.

It’s basically no more local than the county level.

Dont know enough about it settings wise but anywhere weve stopped its been fine. Even tonight on a wee site on the Vienne river France, it has us spot on. As i said might just be lucky first time ive used it..

It has the location correct for me, just not a specific name. Does it name your French site correctly?

Thanks. Maybe it’s just Scotland... I’ll persevere, as otherwise it is a pretty good app.
