Hi Just some advise from you guys we are looking for travel insurance for spain and france in our motorhome next year with some medical conditions not overly serious do anyone know of a good travel insurance not over priced like some we are looking to stay around 105 days.

regards Joe

We’ve just had a quote from LV and that’s £153 for annual up to 90 day trips and we both have pre existing medical conditions high BP and wife is Diabetic. Both over 65yrs.????

We always use the search engines such as "Go Compare", "Money Supermarket", etc.
Depending on your needs, we have found that single trip often offer longer periods away than annual multi-trip.

Put in ALL the details they ask for including the medical conditions,

MAKE SURE YOU TICK THE BOX THAT PROHIBITS INDIVIDUAL COMPANIES CONTACTING YOU,!!! or you will be plagued with phone calls.

The comparison site will send you an email with all the quotes.

Take your time and go through the results to find the one that suits you best

We often end up with "Backpacking" policies but make sure we have entered all the details correctly and are happy with the terms and conditions .

Some companies offer discounts if you dont want delayed departure and lost luggage etc.

Only downside we have found is that some insurance companies are not included in the search engines. I think the best known one in this category is Direct Line.

Good Luck

Barry

Did better than us quote £406.94 for 90 days just now ☹️ Not fair ?

We have just had fantastic service from Red Pennant, the insurance arm of the Caravan and Motorhome Club. We had a single policy for 122 days in Europe for vehicle breakdown and personal health insurance for 2 people. Cost £304. Unfortunately had to claim, wife ill, had to be flown back to UK with emergency nurse carrying oxygen, motorhome driven back home by driver supplied by RP. Excellent!

We use Eurotunnel annual multi trip travel insurance as no need to declare medical conditions, just need to be sure your GP will confirm that you were fit to travel. Costs less than £90 for both of us. For more than 31 days it would have to be a single trip insurance. Certainly worth a call.

There is also no age limit on single trip policies.

If you really want a good laugh try the caravan club. I've just tried them for a 90 day single trip and they want £507.
At the moment I'm only paying £365 for annual multi trip cover.

Is your annual multi trip for 90 days though? Most aren't.

Eurotunnel, every time. No questions asked, just you need to confirm with your doctor that your fit to travel. Use their insurance even if going by other means.

Eurotunnel clearly states that some pre existing conditions may not be covered

Not told anything about that when I spoke to the girl to renew my travel insurance. Just that they only cover mainland Europe. The only thing she said was that as long as my GP would say that we were fit to travel if asked.

I was really surprised when I asked if we'd be covered flying to Tunisia for a holiday and told yes they would cover us as long as it wasn't on an island! Since when has Tunisia been mainland Europe?
