Just had my tracking company on saying my warranty is up and the tracker needs servicing. Anybody else done this or is it just another money spinner?

how in gods name do you service a tracker unless it’s running off its own internal battery

Unless they dust it off or summat 😉🤔

As far as I'm aware nothing to service.....

Be worth asking for a service schedule so you could be an informed customer

If its a three year old, non hybrid high lift cam version, it will be due an oil change on the 31st September.

don’t forget the habitation check as well done every 3 years on trackers 🤣

It probably does have an internal battery for backup. You don't want it to die the moment someone unplugs the cab/hab battery.

With my Scorpion tracker, when it stopped working they would not even look at it and said that they would send an engineer to replace it with a new unit at my cost. So a got a new tracker - a Meta one from Vanbitz. Did so very reluctantly as the only reason it is there because the insurance insist on it

It'll be like an overcharged mobile phone battery, it's probably dead after 3 years. Needs a new one.
So i’ll asked again

is that a service where they can charge an hourly rate or just a simple battery change

i’m thinking calling it a “service” simply warrants them getting more out of the customer

But what’s new there? 😉

I accidentally found my tracker. It is buried quite deep in the dash. Either they employ Mr Tickle, or they are going to need to remove a few panels.

As I said earlier...
Ask for a copy of the service schedule
And
The cost

My Cobra tracker with lifetime contract worked without fault for almost 9 years of ownership. Activated twice when battery was changed & therefore no power. No mention ever of servicing

Right i read the email wrong. Basically my warranty is up. I either leave it and if i get a fault its £99 call out plus materials .if its caput its £349 for a new one.
Or 1 year warranty £36 or three years £99 . My concern is can they deactivate and say its faulty if i dont take out warranty?
