I'm in the process of changing van, the dealer fits Vodafone Alarms and trackers but they seem very expensive ... Any recommendations for proactive Thatcham approved options gratefully received

I fitted a tracker to my Motorhome sold by 'Global Trackers'. Not expensive and only £4.00 per month subscription. I have tested it when out and it worked very accurately. Only downside I had to phone the helpline to get the app to work. However, Mandi Morris on 01278 795581 couldn't have been more helpful.

Wasn't there a thread a while back about someone using an old "PAYG" phone hidden with extra battery back up as a tracker?

Make sure that the tracker you are fitting is Thatcham approved and accepted by your insurance company if they are insisting on you having one, not all are.

Is this a requirement of your insurance company? If so what Thatcham Category do they want?
