We are having a new van soon and will require a tow bar fitting.but seek a bit of assistance before trying to speak to mobile fitting co's

Are MH towbars any different to those for the donor vans, in this case a Peugeot Boxer ?

I only need 7 pin for my trailer is there an advantage to getting the 13 pin fitted and using an adapter?

I assume (but don't know) the new van will have reversing sensors, in which case is detachable the way to go ?

Any nightmare operators to avoid, we are in Salisbury?

TIA

if its a new van ask the dealer if you can have one factory fitted-its may be cheaper than an after sale fitting. Plus they now have to be type approved

Whether the towbar for a MH differs from one for the base vehicle depends on whether the converter has used a chassis extension. Most if not all coachbuilt & A class vans are extended in which case a base vehicle towbar won't fit. There's no advantage in using 13 pin to replace a single 7 pin. I doubt you'll find many trailers using 13 pin (intended for caravans).
