Burstner Marano T580
Hi
I've just bought a Marano T580 and need a towbar. I can fit ond myself and have a friend who can sort out the electrics, can anyone recommend an off the shelf bar for this make and model?

Thanks in advance
Nick

I don't think you will get an off the shelf one as it depends on the vans chassis & chassis extentions. You need to one of the towbar specialists like Whitter.

Would something like this work
Don't think that would be legal on a van from 2012 they need to be type approved

Nebo do an adjustable type approved towbar.
It's a bit ugly when fitted but it's a good option for DIY. I did consider one but I didn't like most of the bar being on view.
Just had a towbar fitted by Mike Parkinson in Preston £675 and you can only see the tow ball.

I thought it had to be type approved for the vehicle.

Not sure how it all works, but the manufacturers only make a few different types that fit motorhomes. Towtrust only make about 5 or 6 different types and a few types of chassis extensions.

Seems to be circa £750 saving on my quote for diy for cranked chassis extensions and an adjustable towbar. Insurance company not bothered if DIY as long as it's CE marked.
