My American RV has a UK towball fitted and works well with the EasyLifter bike carrier I have.
I have little experience towing anything but I know the guide height for a towing tow ball in UK is 350 to 420mm from the ground to centre of tow "ball".

My RV ball sits around 55 to 60cm from ground (didn't have a tape measure with me today but I know it is the same height as the top of my knee cap).

So if and when I want to put the A-frame tow car on should I be getting a height adjustable adaptor?
Such as....

If the A frame has over-run brakes then yes.
If it's electrically braked then no.....unless the cup fouls on the ball.
All my towballs have been 17" (43cm) to ball center.

Majority of USRV have a square reciver hitch , not a 2 bolt plate fixing so the pic you show would not work ,unless you have an adapter, best (easiest) answer you want a swan neck also less risk of grounding out on ramps etc .

If you have a 2” receiver on the back there are many drop plates available. I run a 2” receiver and drop plates with my Defender.
