Caravaning since 1974 - Motorhoming since 2003
We are now at Totana and find it lives up to all that has been said about it. The views are fantastic, it’s quiet with very friendly owners and the resident British couple Martin & Judith (no, not long term motorhomers they live here) who go out of their way to make you welcome.
We will be here for a few more days so come and join us in a pretty part of rural Spain.

Totana Camperstop

It nestles in the foothills above the town of Totana with easy access from the A7, the free motorway between Alicante and Almeria.
Exit the A7 at J 620 (your sat nav may not find it) and follow the 502, the Camper Stop is signed off this road.

wonderful stay at TOTANA

Now we have got internet l can write about the beautiful stay we had in TOTANA.

We both had a wonderful time on the camper stop it was stunning and well laid out with all you could want, with lovely bike rides and walks we did not want to leave. The company of Martin and Judith was lovely. We loved the Town with its fiesta, and the people were friendly ,there was a fun fair, and a market and excellent shops what more could you want and yes the sun. We will try to return on the way back in March.

Better tell Google then Martin:BigGrin:

We aim to be there in a couple of weeks. Where can I get a turkey?:Rofl1:

Try Camposol just down the RM-3 towards Mazarron. They have everything English and just about everyone speaks English. There is even an English Fish & Chip Shop on the shopping area. When we were there last week they were taking orders for Christmas in the Quick Save.

Nice hot spring there as well.

We arrived late yesterday on our way to Portugal and noticed Keith parked up in the corner. The place is lovely and clean and the views are wonderful. This morning we met Martin & Judith and had a little chat about the local area. We will come back here again and again as it's perfect for walking etc and only 90 minutes from our home base.

Peaceful, quiet and secure what more could one ask.

Off now to say hello to Keith before moving on.

Just been shopping down in Totana and there was this enormous Turkey on the butchers counter, so what you waiting for?

OK, I'll be able to pay with those lottery tickets I just bought in Granada which I was told will definitely win. The turkey will go well with the sprigs of rosemary we bought near the Alhambra while having my fabric shoes polished.

Oi you lot try the market in totana on Wednesday.... Superb!!! :thumb:

Update on the exit numbers. Approaching from the north the number is 620 from the south 609.

Well we stayed five nights ago and my personal view: Great place. It was clean and tidy, with security camera on site, the owner came across and checked we were ok and the electric and WiFi were perfect. Washing machine, washing area hot showers etc ( however not working when we where there due to lack of use ).
Now it might not be to everyone liking as it not near a pub, shop or village, however the views are great and for anyone into walking/hiking there are many routes you can enjoy or just want to enjoy peace and quiet.
At the end of the day were you stay is your choice, however if we don't start using/supporting these sort of places they will close and we all end up paying loads of money just to park.......................

Will we visit again YES without fail on your outings.

Thinking of calling in the next day or so, is the washing machine working does any one know.

When we come off at Junction 609 shay do we look out for from there.

Hi there.

When you exit the motorway, junction no. 620 from the north no. 609 from the south follow the signs for Aledo, this is the Totana bypass. The camperstop is signed from the roundabout signed to Polideportivo. Follow signs all the way to the canal and turn right down the concrete road to the camperstop (signed).

The washing machine is working.

Look forward to meeting you.

We have just spent 4 days at this idyllic Camper Stop, spotlessly clean, all the information about the area given, by the Spanish Owner who speaks quite good English.

A added bonus is next door to the Camper Stop funsters Jumar live, (Judith & Martin) who are more than willing to help with anything giving a extra bonus.

We have cycled and walked and soaked up the sun, and if we are this way again will definitely spend more time here.

When I can I will have a go at putting some pictures on of the local area.

Update to the Update

It appears that stickers have been placed on all kilometre signs and now from both north and south the exit number is 609. I think I'll give up if things change again!!!
