Today I have mainly been parking on the wrong side of the peg.

Oooooh you’re in sooooo much trouble now.

Bet the warden is on his way with the “rules” as I type……

Don't know what it is. I know my left from right, honest. But once I get near a peg I lose all sense of direction.

It was worse last year when I followed a car through the barrier without using the electronic key.

So, at Abbey Wood a couple of weeks ago I was instructed to park between two red oegs. Unfortunately due to the short pitch I needed to overhang at the back so carefully moved each peg 6 inches wider so I could fit between.
Warden was OK but told me I should not have moved them 😀

Caravan club have 2 pegs ! PARK BETWEEN THEM !. 🤣🤣🤣

Can someone please explain this 'white peg' thing? I know it's something to do with C&MH clubs but what's it all about? It sounds very regimental. Does anyone have pictures of what's 'right' and what's 'wrong'? Thanks! :)

As post 19

The apocalypse is upon us!

You’ll be getting a letter from “The Club”…..

There is a peg in each pitch as you drive or reverse into it. The peg is there to guide us where to position the vehicle. It follows their fire risk assessment which probably dictates a minimum safe distance between camping units.

In fairness the wardens are there to uphold the rules, they don't make them. As a Scouser I've probably had more of the Mickey taken out of me than any site warden. So in true British tradition, it's fair game when I find something funny. First you need to be able to laugh at yourself before others.

We like the freedom of choice a MH gives us and we like to mix it up, from 'Rule' lead sites, to wild camping'.

Because we can.

You pays your money (or not) and makes your choice.

Aha, so that explains why I've heard people saying about wardens being so strict about van placement! Thank you :) Unlike the French, who like to park as though it's an Asda car park with the ability to shake hands with your neighbour through the windows!!! LOL Thanks for explaining it :)

At the least you should get a red card and be sin binned for a month.

We stayed at the clubs Alderstead campsite a while back.
A lot of the pitches had the power bollard in the centre of the pitch about a metre back from the hard standing, nearly every one was at a good tilt!

Why do they have the peg on the LH/passenger's side, you can't see it as you drive up.

FLT's enjoy making it sound more than it is .
Arrive, check in, drive/walk around site to find your preferred pitch.
Drive or reverse in.
Job done.
