I was in two minds to share this tip or not, but it worked and was cheap so why not. :-)

The seals on the windows etc were getting a bit sticky again this year. Last year I used silicone spray, it works but goes everywhere!

A caravan forum I used to frequent recommended a bar of the stuff but it was £20 for a small one.

Well, during my internet search the adult filters were off and up popped this stuff.

It came in discreet packaging and I have duly wiped it all over the seals and it worked great. Only used about a quarter of the bottle too so I am well happy.

I use talcum powder on the rubber roof light window and door seals Once a year. Not messy, works very well
Never thought of talc, does it not dry the rubber out?

Best product I have used is Gummi Pfllege .. it cleans, protects and lubricates window, door and locker seals.
I use it once or twice a year to prevent sticking rooflights and windows. It's clean and easy to use without any mess.

No idea but been using it on rubber seals for drysuits etc and window seals for very many years. The rubber remains unaffected and does not become sticky

A friend of ours was searching for pvc sheeting on line at work. Good thing her boss had a sense of humour

It almost sounds like you were on the adult site by mistake...........ahem!

Bought some Gummi pfllege after reading this thread. It's very very similar to silicone grease, but twice the price.

Something else I tried is Autoglym plastic and rubber cleaner (got it free with the car) and that is very similar to pledge 99p polish 😂

Think I prefer autoglym/pledge as it leaves a clean silky smooth finish 👌

Silly boy you are supposed to spray it on a cloth then wipe it on.

A great way to rot your seals Talc contains perfumes which rot the seals but you can use unperfumed baby powder.

Good idea ref the adult shop.

Also got an assistant to help apply it.

Great travel buddy, rolls up flat for storage and very useful in the pool or the sea.

Thanks for the tip 👍🏻😇

Has anybody tried Thetford cassette Seal Lubricant wiped on with a cloth.

Simple, but will it work, with no side effects? I've not tried it but would welcome comments.

I've always used Gummi Pflege on my Merc convertable roof seals to keep them supple, so much cheaper than new seals, I'll start using them on the window seals now

That's Motorhome Fun for you...

You find an economic product that does a great job solving a problem on your motorhome and, being an helpful person, you share your discovery on the forum only to have a line of Folk posting their "better", "cheaper", "quicker", "nicer smelling" "prettier coloured" solutions after you.

Are we meant to try all of them and make a decision?

JJ

I do not use perfumed talc but baby powder as you correctly say (essential for any dinghy sailor struggling with wet or dry suits). Been doing that for years without ill effect on any of the neck/foot seals

Great travel buddy, rolls up

Doesn’t nag you or answer back either. The bonus is the zero wine consumption
Heard about one desperate young man who bought a blow-uo doll. When it arrived he excitedly blew it up......but was distraught to find it was a male doll. He telephoned Amazon to complain and was told it was his own fault as he had blown it up inside out!!! 😂

Yep, I'm an ex dinghy sailor

What's wrong with a quick spray and polish with Mr Sheen.

Works a treat on curtain rails etc.
