Hi, we've just has a great weekend at Roundtree Park and are now at Flamborough head CL for a relaxing night.

Emptied all our waste this morning before leaving, and left just enough fresh water in the tank to get us to this site.

Went to fill up our water, with the hose I keep in the toilet locker, and the top, non-locking, button will not release, the bottom locking button is working fine, and I've now managed to push the button into the door!

I've managed to get fresh water in via bottles and a funnel buy not looking for tips how on earth to open the door without causing further damage!

Picture shows where I'm at now

Thanks

Rob

It’s probably broken anyway so knock it through with a hammer and something round then order a new one they are not too expensive.

Ah, can you replace just the push button & mechanism?

Off to look on Google now....... 👍

Was it not releasing before the button got stuck in?
No, wouldn't release at all, then I managed to jam it in completely.

Found the bottons on eBay, the only problem is the listing states "remove the old button careful and note the springs as no instructions are included" 😂

Pretty sure we had a similar problem with that kind of locker catch. Let me see if I can find the info.

Here you go....sorry the pics no longer work, but its the same type of catch as your's
Basically, brute force and ignorance was what worked for me.

I'm good with that, got a good supply of hammers 👌

PS. If you Google "thetford lock diagram" you can see what it looks like inside.

No hammers required...just a lot a lot of tugging

I'm home, and got into the door!

Couldn't force it open, but using a large screwdriver bypassed the button and caught the mechanism and popped it open.

The white plastic bar is bent, and one spring too, but don't know if that's been the problem, or I've done that getting in!

New rebuild kit ordered and looks fairly easy to replace

Thank you for all your help

Rob

The latest MMM magazine, August edition page 121, has an article on how to upgrade a Thetford door lock. It has good pictures and advice, showing 'springs' and button housing etc. Worth a look.
