hi, we have just got a new to us 1997 Hymer B544 and the electric flush on the toilet is not working , is there a fuse for it please, or is there anything we can check, it has water getting to it and we have found the relay, when you push the flush you can hear the micro switch clicking. But no flush, help please. Thanks in advance.

Living the dream.
Has the toilet got it’s own tank or does the water come from the main fresh water tank?

On my 2003 b544 I think there is a fuse for flush on the wiring in the cassette locker.
Does bathroom lighting work, I assume it would be on same circuit as the flush.
Could be a fault on the micro switch ?

Is the 12V circuit in the MH switched on. Is the water pump circuit switched on.

If you can hear the relay clicking.... when you press button
And your water is pumped via main tank...

I would be listening for pump ... and if pump operates... I’d consider an air-lock first...

If pump none operational... issue with something tween relay and pump.. or pump turned off -

water at all other taps?

16 years since restarting
It would appear to be a lack of power to the pump from the switch, assuming there is power at the switch. As others have said start with finding the fuse & if that is ok trace the power to the switch & back to the pump.

There is a fuse, reachable from underneath after removing the cassette
However if the valve is clicking the fuse is probably ok. It doesn't have its own pump so the water pump has to be on.

Don't know if this will help...

This, the manual tells me, is the fuse for flushing the toilet on our Burstner 2010

It is in the outside locker that houses the toilet cassette.

7 years campers before that
there is a solenoid valve in the toilet these can stick might be worth getting it out and cleaning check theres power to it when flush button is pushed theres also a micro switch connection if your pump is microswitched rather than pressure operated

Ok found the fuse and change it and flush was trying to work but could smell burning so took the pump off attached to inlet water from tank and it’s burning hot so think it’s that part that needs replacing, the filter in it is blocked , no surprise van has been stood for a long time before we got it so off to the boatyard near us as they might have a Thetford part on the shelf. Will let you know if it fixes the problem.

Thanks so much, gradually sorting out how stuff works, a few minor bits needed sorting but we expect that it’s an old Motorhome 1997. But we love it and we hope it will take us on great adventures.

Great that you’ve found the cause of the problem, and have a solution.
Also great that you’ve let folk know you’ve progressed............. many don’t bother, which is just rude. Good luck with your adventures!

View attachment 282627 Hi, it was the cassette water valve at fault just ordered a new one. Not held on Thetford stockiest have to order it, arriving on Tuesday. Thanks again.
We have the same problem. Where did you find the water valve located near the cassette toilet? We have the same locker access and piping you showed. I take it the valve was in the bathroom in near the toilet?
Thanks
