Another problem! Seems like everything is coming to the end of it's life at 6 years old ๐Ÿ˜’. Noticed the water pump light is on all the time, the pump isn't running but it's taking about 4 amps. If I open a tap it starts and works.

So it looks to me like the pump is stalling rather than switching off so it's a pressure switch problem. It's a whale watermaster pump. Anybody had any similar issues? Pic from last year...

I'll have a look later when we get back from shopping ๐Ÿค”

I take it you are still in Spain, I'd replace it with a Sureflo pump you should be able to get one locally.

I'm surprised at you Richard, not carrying a spare.:giggle:

If its switched on and hydraulic locked it would pop the fuse and also pretty hot to touch.
Yes it must have been pretty hot when I first noticed in was on, was on like that for 20 mins or something โ™จ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ณ I expected some warm water to come out of the tap but none did ๐Ÿ‘

Strip down time ๐Ÿ˜€ I'll have to start a Haynes manual ๐Ÿ˜‚

Microswitch feels OK nice positive click click. Motor spindle feels a bit Errrrm ๐Ÿค”very slightly not smooth and there's a very slight bit of noise as if the brushes are worn out or something. More screws to remove ๐Ÿ˜

Oh that's helpful of them. It's a sealed motor ๐Ÿ™„
WD40 time if that doesn't work we're stuffed.

PS when I tried it last before stripping the motor wouldn't run, so it's the motor lost it's torque.

Ladies and Gentlemen! I declare myself a genius of the highest magnitude! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜ With 3 squirts of WD40 lubrication into the motor casing (And 2 cans of Estrella Galicia to lubricate me๐Ÿ˜œ) the pump is now reassembled and seems to be as good as new, alas I know it won't last. I'll get the Sureflow one when we get home ๐Ÿ‘

And WD40 is a degreasant and good electrical isolater both of which are bad around an electric motor ๐Ÿ˜‰

You use what you have around in an emergency, it's a sealed motor all he has done is free up a partly seized bearing just needs a drop of olive oil on it now as WD40 will dry out.

Or I need the optional extra 2 foot long WD40 aerosol tube so I can lube it from the wardrobe ๐Ÿคฃ

4 days on and the pump is purring away like Rolls Royce, faster and smoother than it's sounded for months. Good old WD ๐Ÿ˜

Ordered the sureflow off the linked eBay site, they are also sending 2 x 12mm GJ fittings (ยฝ"BSP thread by the way) and 1metre of blue pipe ยฃ64 all in ๐Ÿ‘

Did you get the inlet filter included?

Sorted ๐Ÿ˜ I had to move the shelf a bit and make a bracket to hold the ballast upright.

I've also shortened the shelf by 2mm on each end so it doesn't touch the walls and mounted the shelf on 4 rubber pads, none of the screws are tightened up fully either. Just letting it dry out a bit after a stem elbow fitting blew out of the outlet ๐Ÿ™„ (binned it now). Had to adjust the pressure switch up a bit so it doesn't short cycle and got the signal wire back on it too. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The old one lasted until we got home by the way ๐Ÿ˜
