Canterbury is lovely although we didn't do the cathedral as its £24 for 2 people, sorry but that's daylight robbery.
We did however buy some more walking trousers and long socks.
The one thing we had missed was real ale(pints of proper job from St Austell brewery cornwall) and a pub lunch, mmm pie and mash lovely.View attachment 433996View attachment 433997View attachment 433998View attachment 433999View attachment 434000View attachment 434002View attachment 434003View attachment 434004View attachment 434005View attachment 434006View attachment 434007View attachment 434008View attachment 434009View attachment 434010

The pub opposite the Cathedral entrance sells Doombar.

It is where she parks me while she does the rounds of the charity shops.

We arrived yesterday at ash ridge farm caravan club site.
The local village with 3 pubs although only 1 is open at the moment, a bakers, pharmacy and a corner shop Is nice and the campsite is in a very quiet Location even though all of the pitches are taken it’s very peaceful.
We enjoyed authentic Thai food last night from the food truck that was onsite not cheap but very good.
We’ll today is a slow walk to the pub for Sunday lunch (a new chef who’s supposedly very talented). I will report back later although that does depend how many real ales are sunk with lunch 😄😄😄.
The inside of the motor looks like a Chinese laundry though as Phil took the opportunity and utilised the on-site machine which surprising was a commercial one and not a small household one. He will use the dryer for sheets and towels but our clothes are always hung to dry thus not needing to be ironed and no shrinkage unfortunately that means any tightness of clothes is definitely food and drink related.

A little walk and a fabulous lunch, apparently the chef is originally a chef de cuisine off a cruise ship thats currently laid up. You can tell, that was one of the nicest roast beef diners I've had in a long time.

Arrived back at base in Whitchurch.

The motorhome will fly up and down the roads now we have emptied out a load of bits and pieces we don’t need that we carried over from the euramobil plus all of that french and German wine we acquired on our travels. (If we end up working at Chester Christmas market the wine is our support crutch 😂😂)
However I’ve put the electric kettle and the toaster back in as we are going to be using more uk sites that provide electric.
A few bits and pieces to do tomorrow including a meeting with a welder friend of mine who will be doing a few jobs I need for the business kit, hopefully done by 4pm then a night at Roodee car park Chester then off to Buxton. We are avoiding tier 3 locations, but as we don’t mix with others tier 2 areas are fine I think.

Well, here we are, like you, back in Rohren, after a month in Germany. Look around Monschau tomorrow and then off Wednesday morning to the Tunnel. Back from the most civilised and best organised country in Europe to the failed State previously known as the United Kingdom. What a tragedy!

Well after a great meeting with the welder At base and a night in Roodee car park Chester (Covid testing centre there now so not the best nights sleep as they had 24hr generator running).
A good meeting in Chester now that small amount of work done, we are pitched up at the Buxton CAMC site.
Great walks round here but I am tired so I will see how I feel tomorrow.

We do love a nice pie and we got another one today at the sun Inn in buxton. We where going to go to the titanic brewery pub called Cheshire cheese but I'm sorry card only payment no thank you that's just lazy not good business practice, we do not want a cashless society. Anyway he's some nice pics from around buxton on our walk out.

Moved up to Wharfdale camc site. We walked into grassington just to have a look, stopped at a deli picking up some cheese and leek stuffed chicken breast, local sausage for brekky and a piece of Yorkshire brack. We stumbled across the forester Arms pub and as I do like a nice pint of black sheep beer we stopped for one which turned into 5 😂 anyway stumbled back to home and the chicken's in the oven and we are happy bunny's drinking some of our german lager and listening to Ella Fitzgerald . Sorted.

If you are in the area, try and make time to visit Seasons Bakery at Ingleton.
Can't find a website for them but here they are on Tripadvisor..

They do (or did?) the best pear and stilton sourdough bread in the world!! Loads of other yummy stuff as well.

You can park overnight for £5 on the central car park just up the road....

If you want a little pampering...
Stacksteads Farm is a nice 5 van CL nearby but has a gorgeous little pool/spa attached...

I take my previous comment back as they are open on a Sunday. We will try to call in to pick up some bread.

I love Grassington. You can park a motorhome at the National Park Centre on the B6265 , a short walk into the centre. It's a shame they don't allow overnight parking.
It's also where the "Calendar Girls " originated.
