Staying at Glebe farm CL near to Shrewsbury, filling the lpg on route and stopping to top up the cider/beer/lager at bookers Shrewsbury before settling in till next Wednesday.
it’s been so strange parked up for over 3 months but at least we now know every walk around Whitchurch.
We have tickets to the national trust Attingham park and we will be calling into Ironbridge on the scooter, does anyone have any other recommendations for the Shrewsbury area.

The whole of Shropshire is lovely. Ludlow is not to be missed. Church Stretton, Stokesay Castle Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Bishops Castle to name but a few places. Plenty of walking if, like us, you prefer to avoid the crowds.
Enjoy! We're setting off for the Tunnel. :giggle:

A few bottles from the onsite vineyard.

We did the long mynd today and it was a great walk. I would recomend if you are in the area.
Went to the car park at carding Mill valley on the scooter, you could do it in a 6m or less but I would say no bigger.

You can easily spend a few days at Ironbridge if you want to see ALL the museums. That's why they offer to sell you a 'Passport' - valid for 12 months. Every one is different! Take you all day just to see Blists Hill.

If you enjoyed the Mynd, you'd probably quite like Wellington Wrekin?

We looked at the museum’s but it’s timed access and limited numbers. Thank you though.
we are at attingham park this morning but we will call into Ironbridge this afternoon for a mooch about.

Yesterday was a great day but a little tired today.
We started off at Attingham Park a national

trust country house walled garden and deer park lands.
Next was the small town of much Wenlock and a walking area called Wenlock edge.

Next on the list was Ironbridge although we are on a scooter they had free parking for cars/small motorhomes in the car park next to the bridge. Another lovely walk although the ours was quite steep lots of flat walks next to the river. Picked up 4 local bottles of pale ale, fresh bread and a t towel saying Ironbridge (sad I know but you got to love a tourist t towel as it does stop motorhome rattles).
Today will be a slow start with a mooch around Shrewsbury later.

Nice beanie!(y)

We travel down to Leominster Wednesday lunchtime for a few days.
Does anybody have any recommendations for this area.

The Quarry park is a lovely walk along the Severn. The Sabrina boat trip is running from Welsh Bridge. Haumond Hill near to Attingham is a popular walking place. Whixall Moss and Brown Moss near Whitchurch. Shropshire Union canal. Lots of lovely places in North Shropshire

IMHO Leominster itself is a bit of a dump but there are a couple of national trust castles nearby worth a visit and the black and white villages route is also worth doing if u like quaint places without too much going on.
Queenswood country park is a good forested area with plenty of walks or a bit further away you could venture up onto clee hill for the views if you get some good weather.
A stopover in Ludlow on the way down and a walk around the town can be good for an hour or so - if you can find parking.

Arrived at our cl just outside of Leominster we managed to do a little bit of the black and white tudor village trail, its very quaint.
Picked up some bottles of goodness from a independent bottle shop in Leominster which does seem to be struggling a bit as a town, empty shops scruffy buildings etc. Still some classy nice bits though.
This morning we are going to see Ludlow and then this afternoon a walk round croft Castle and parkland. Hereford tommorow.

No sure if the mappa munday is open at the cathedral in Hereford but well worth a look as is their chained library. Probably cost u an arm and a leg - last time I went it was free.
The barrels is good for a pint of wye valley if open and the brewery producing beer.

I’m always grateful for a recommendation especially for 🍺

Today was lovely. Ludlow what a pretty town. We lucked out on the fact that the farmers market was on so pickles and dried meats, thank you. Also picked up some ludlow sausage I have no idea if its nice, breakfast tommorow will be testing time.
The afternoon was spent at croft Castle and parkland which is a great national Trust area for walking which included a iron age fort (which is not there just the slope of the land on the top of the hill) and a very chilled time walking through forests in the rain.

Had me dinner in there many times bit strange as due to *settlement* everything is on a slope! Did you find any fossils on your walk? Its trilobite heaven round Ludlow but they do discourage digging!

Arrived at Hereford camping and caravanning club site yesterday at 1pm. What a lovely well run site no hassle or drama with hands off check in.
It was nesting day yesterday so home made mousaka made from minced lamb we picked up at ludlow farmers market and enjoyed a lovely sunny afternoon drinking bottles of beers and ciders from the bottle shop in Leominster . Although this cloud formation did remind me of a ram, maybe it was the drink 🤔🤔.

Just got back after visiting Goodrich Castle I do love a castle and this one was a great one to have a mooch around. We then had a ride through the forest of Dean, called into Ross on rye before checking out Hereford and its cathedral. Had my first pint of real ale hand pull in a pub near to the cathedral called the black lion (an alley cum beer garden, perfect). The butter market in the centre had a good stall which we topped up with bacon, black pudding, ham, pork pie and Welsh butter. A very full yet productive day.

”Mr Porky” - Your name seems apt considering what you bought at the Butter Market in Hereford. My mouth is watering at the thought of your breakfast of black pudding and bacon fried in Welsh butter, to be followed by pork pie for lunch. Oh how I miss pork pies. If any Melton Mowbray butchers are reading this thread could they please move to NZ and set up in business. But they’d have to teach the Kiwis not to microwave them! (apologies to Kiwibrit)
I also have to say, that if I was forced to return to live in the UK, Hereford or Shrewsbury would be my towns of choice.

To be honest it’s the one thing I do miss when travelling abroad (pork pies) as I do love the spanish black pudding usually served as a pinchos (on a bit of crusty bread)

2 walks with friends yesterday one in Ledbury and the other on the malvern hills. Enjoyed a little refreshment in another side alley/beer garden inbetween. So glad we went up on the scooter as I wouldn't have been uncomfortable in anything other than a panel type van motorhome.

We have been at the Tewksbury CAMC site for a couple of days now, wondered around the town, picked up some lovely chocolate from a little chocolatier plus again local sausage which is delicious Oh and Tewksbury mustard (Dijon style with added horseradish). Had a trip out to a Neolithic burial chamber which isn’t much to look at but the hike up and the views made it rewarding.
