The Haggis announces Covid QR code for us Scots at last

Great news! When does it start? 3rd Sept for nightclubs etc but what about abroad?
It says you can download from 3rd for use internationally.

"The addition of 2D Barcodes (also known as QR Codes) to Scotland’s certification process adheres to EU standards. They have been successfully tested with a number of European nations, and provide additional security features that helps ensure the validity of the certificate"
Fingers crossed.

We flew to Spain 🇪🇸 last week, completed all the paperwork with the details from the letter I requested as soon as we had the second jab. We flew from Manchester but were jabbed in Scotland.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Flew Ryanair, we didn't complete their online jobbie as we only had the letter and it was not even requested! Quite disappointed as heard all these stories of not being allowed on board unless you can prove jabbed...
Just booked fit to fly here for 3 weeks and 2 day home test when we are back, ££ but worth it! 🍷🍷🍷

Driving back over end of October - can't wait 😎

So am I right that, if fully vaccinated, with Scottish QR code that we don’t require a covid test outbound but we do require them to return?

The testing remains the same as it was.

Appreciate that. Just trying to understand gov.uk requirements 😉 - I thought PCR was required on exit but suggests not.

So now I just need to work out how we would re-enter uk 🤞🤞

From my understanding and Govt.websites;
No test before you leave if double vaccinated. Either buy approved tests to take with you to do before you return or go to a pharmacy in EU ( probably cheaper and easier) and get tested before you travel back to the UK. Also order your Day 2 test for when you are back. You need the reference number of your Day 2 test for the Passenger Locator Form that you need to complete before you travel back to the UK.

We traveled from Lockerbie to Dover yesterday, great trip down, no problem with traffic.
Arrived at Dover at 6.30 for the 10.20pm ferry.
Stopped at the french boarder point, passport stamped and our Scottish COVID certificate just glanced at and waved through.
So all the stories about needing the french QR code and being unsure about the Scottish certificate not acceptable we’re unfounded.
No checks on our fridge.
Pulled in the PO ferry check in and told the 7pm is just loading so get on that.
So all in all the experience was very positive.

Thank you for your post. This is as I imagine it will be for us in a couple of weeks. There are many scare stories about how difficult travel is going to be. It refreshing to have first hand experience quoted.

The issue is , you can apply for the french COVID app, but when you get it is another question.
We applied over 10 days ago, still not received.
But why let that stop you!

Download TousAnticovid ( not TousAnticovidverif) from your app store. Go through the processes it makes you go through and in My Wallet add a document. You can then scan the qr code for your second jab on your new Scottish certificate. It works!
You don't need to wait for your certificate from the French authorities, which is great as mine hasn't been approved by the French yet either and I'm off there on Monday.

Thank you Scotland for finally coming into line with the rest of the UK in regard to COVID certificates. In France since the 16th Aug and now that the TousAntiCovid app accepts the QR code, we can hopefully not have to go through the hassle of trying to get some french restaurant owners to accept the paper certificate.

Hang on a moment...,
It appears the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💉QR code loads OK into the 🇫🇷TousAntiCovid app, but IT IS NOT recognised / produces an "NON VALIDE" error 😢when scanned with the 🇫🇷 TousAntiCovid Verif app... So a bit of a problem at the moment 😡

Ours worked fine, did you add it to the wallet, as previous posts indicated ?

We had the same problem last night. The message in my certificate in my wallet in the TousAntiCovid app is as follows:- The NHS certificate is now recognised in France. If the venue staff can’t scan it properly, please ask them to force a refresh and update “TousAntiCovid Verif” app on the store.

Just looked at the version number for the TousAntiCovid Verif app (1.8.0) which came out approx 2 weeks ago. Maybe the app is not quite ready for the new Scottish QR codes.

Yes,
The 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 QR code adds to the TousAntiCovid app wallet fine and is accepted.
The issue is with the venue reader app 'TousAntiCovid Verif' that venues use to check the validity of your QR code held in your TAC app.

The 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 QR code produces a "non Valide' message 🙁.
I have the latest TAC verif app v1.8.0 downloaded last night, so the TAC verif app requires a fix at the 🇫🇷 end to recognise thee 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 QR

Elaine and I have downloaded our NHS Scotland Record of Vaccination and we are valid until 4th Sep 2022, assuming neither of us expire before the Certificate does ...

It might be in due course, but I get the following results when it is scanned with the TAC verif app

About 10 days ago, the EU had not approved the English version because of late application dates and coding incompatibilities which the EU spokesperson was confident could be resolved 'within the next 7 days or so' [IIRC], and this has obviously happened. No reason for us poor Scots to be frozen out of the Parisian restaurants, but that pragmatism does mess up the headline.

I don't believe the EU has resolved the outstanding issues and the UK digital certificate is not acceptable pan European are present, but rather only accepted at the discretion of individual members states at the moment.
The ideal situation would be for the UK to sign up to the EU Digital COVID Pass scheme, but principles are getting in the way of pragmatism :(

Or, perhaps Principals are getting in the way of pragmatism ...

We've been away for 8 days, returning yesterday afternoon, so I'm still catching up on all of the 'Pending' items from last week!
