and others.... thanks for your advice and help..😊

I did not buy the burstner, it was in a terrible state, lots wrong with it and very damp everywhere, even had a 10 inch wide hole in the wheel arch liner where I could see into the back of the kitchen with road mud from the tyres...😳

700 mile round trip and I told the seller I wouldn’t give him 10k for it....

Oh well, lesson learned... onwards and upwards....

and Joy, he wanted 22k so yours must be 28-30k....👍🏼

Theres a lot of dogs like that around ....thing is many of them the owner actually believes they have something of value.
Even when i bought toby and he needed work doing to put right the bodges the owner had done the guy thought he had a rare and valuable beast ....some folk are just deluded i guess.

Some people’s version of clean and tidy differ from others I guess, we’re all different.... I’ve just put it down to experience and knowing that when the right one comes along I’ll know for for sure...👍🏼

the thing is the tyres had only just been replaced and the fitter must have seen the great big hole in the liner as it was so obvious and the hole had been there for months by the look of it... the owner must of thought that someone would buy the van without looking around 🤔
Nice big posh house too, you just can’t tell these day...😳

Sounds like a Fiat 126 we went to see which we didn't buy, the lady owner said it was in very good condition with no rust, when we got there it had loads of rust not only underneath but on the actual paintwork too ... when we asked her why she told us it didn't have rust her reply was that it didn't have as there weren't any holes!

We had similar problems when looking for our van as well. Pictures look lovely, owners swear on the phone that the van is in A1 condition, no problems whatsoever. These are some of the things we found :

Van 1 - Random live electric cables hanging from the ceiling in the main hab area, according to the owner "they've always been there like that". Bottom bunk bed held up by 2 bottle jacks "we did it so we could move the bed up and down" and, finally, a chinese diesel heater fitted with the exhaust going into the double floor cavity "it keeps it warm to stop it freezing".

Van 2 - a two foot long gaping crack in the overcab moulding. A floor which left wet footprints in the carpet covering from the amount of water in the floor and finally (and I swear I'm not making this up) it had a peephole (like you would fit into your front door) fitted into the shower....the peephole was orientated so that you could only see INTO the shower from OUTSIDE of the van?!?!

You should come over to Poland for a 126!! Cheap as chips even for good, clean examples although the prices seem to be on the rise.
