Tests with costs for travel and how to get them

With the double jabbees now requiring (at time of writing) a test to leave, a french/european test to come back, and a day 2 test booked in order to come back from Amber countries, this thread is hopefully (for me anyway) going to get the information for us all to be able to book up the cheapest or most reliable or easiest test(s)

If you have found a test which can be added to a hopefully extensive list for others to follow suit please post details below with costs, as it may save me and others some money !

our tunnel is booked both ways , covid passes uploaded attestation forms uploaded too, just need to get the testing sorted .

That's what I m hoping to find out !!!!

PhilandMena had to get quick ones and I think it was 29 nicker each but he will update shortly (please)

I think it was £39 & one of the only places available when I asked. If demand suddenly increases there will not be any capacity.
 
We have had to book our two LF tests from Boots in Nottingham! Leeds Boots had no spaces and York’s Boots doesn’t even do them.
We have a 50 minute wait between tests too. Let’s just hope the so-called sameday results are ‘same day‘ as we are booked at 11 am on the tunnel the next day.🙏🏻
 
We paid £40 each at Third Avenue clinic in Trafford. All worked OK 4 us.

Now here in France 4 weeks.

Hopefully all this testing cr*p will be over before we go back to UK
 
See Spain is now on the red list of France,Germany and Belgium,,Shame but figures must be rising..BUSBY.

As far as I’m aware. No test to leave if you are heading direct to Spain (if you have had two vaccinations).

My mates wife is a resident here has had one jab & is currently working in the UK & Flies back Monday week. needs an antigen test + forms & that is as a spanish resident.
 
The part I'm not getting is the 2nd day return test. Does this need to be booked prior to going back to UK so you can show border control you have booked it in advance of your return?

That's my understanding. Hopefully someone will come back and let us know the score factually

You have to book your test before returning to the UK - did mine through Randox 0nline -£48

The test is delivered to your home address on the day you arrive, self test and send to Randox

if youve had two jabs and have letter or app you dont need a test to go tospain from england

Correct. Before returning to UK you must complete a passenger locator form (online, at www.gov.uk) and you put the reference number of your day 2 test on the form. You will receive the reference number when you pre-book and pay for your day 2 test therefore do this first before trying to complete the form. The passenger locator form can't be submitted until max 48 hrs before the departure to UK afaik.

How far ahead is your trip. I'm not sure when I should book a test we are booked on the Eurotunnel on the 31st.

The day before as we're leaving early..
For the 48hr test.they do all tests including return via phone video realtime so they can see you do the test yourselves.then email you the results.
 
I would strongly advise against using RT Diagnostics for your day 2 PCR test, theres a whole Facebook page devoted to issues with them and I can speak from bitter personal experience. I paid £50 for the day 5 test to release test (on top of the £85 for the day 2 and 8 tests), relying on the day 5 result to catch my flight back to Portugal. It didn't turn up as promised by them, so I had to pay a further £60 for a last minute test at a pharmacy 2 hrs before my flight was due to depart, not a happy bunny. They are listed on the UK Govt list of test providers although, when I complained, was told that yes although they're listed none of the providers are endorsed or recommended....beware!!!
