Well with just over 4 months until we leave the EU on 31 December, and with us planning to cross over again in late January, there is still a lot of confusion on what we will need to do to take our dogs with us in to Europe.
The official guidance is here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pet-travel-to-europe-after-brexit
We have decided to plan for the worst case scenario which is that the UK could be classed as an 'unlisted country’. This means that we have to get dogs’ blood tested, for rabies antibodies and after successful results having to wait 3 months before we can travel.
Of course an agreement may be reached so that things stay as they are, but we did not want to risk not being able to take the dogs with us in January. So we have bitten the bullet and our two are off to the vets tomorrow to get their bloods done.
