I am banging my head against a wall.

My 2009 AS Symbol has a problem with the passenger side swivel seat which does not lock into place.

The swivel plate has a manufacturer (ISRI) and part number so I contacted ISRI who referred me on to a company called www.swivel-seats.com.

I contacted SwivelSeats who in turn contacted ISRI who said they couldn't take an order from them and it would have to be done through the original converter.

I tried AutoSleepers who weren't interested because it is a 2009 model and they consider it to be a part of the base vehicle which they don't deal with.

I really don't know where to turn. The faulty part is a small plastic piece that locks into a slot. I am thinking I may try to 3D print a replacement.

Any suggestions?

May be able to help with 3d printing when they’ve returned from holiday.
I can do the 3D printing. It's designing the part that will be a bit tricky as the part has snapped in two and the seat will need to be taken apart. I may also need to dismantle the drivers side to find the same part which is still intact so I can copy it.

Have you got a photo of the part. I can do the CAD work fo you if that helps.
Thanks for the offer but I can do it in Fusion 360 if need be. The problem is that the part has self-destructed, so will be difficult to copy. However, as I said, the drivers side is still OK so I can copy that if necessary.

I was hoping to avoid having to dismantle it (them). I was hoping I could buy a spare part or even a whole new swivel plate.

Oh well, I like a challenge :(

That’s what I use. Fusion 360. It’s an awesome CAD program 👍
Have fun.

Yes, took me a bit to get my head round it at first but I did a 3 day course last year which has made it a lot easier.

I'll report how I get on but I'm reluctant to start any dismantling until after our trip to New Forest in a fortnight.

Does it have a part number?

Thanks for that. They are fairly local to me. I'll give them a ring tomorrow

I rang them just now. Same answer - it will have to be dealt with by AutoSleeper.

did you try the conversion shop , they may be more approachable

I am pleased to report that this is now fixed

I dismantled the seat/swivel assembly to remove the damaged component. It was worn and had a corner broken off like this

There was a part number printed on it so I tried a Google search which came up trumps with an eBay seller in Lithuania who was selling it.

It arrived today and is now fitted and working perfectly. It was a pig to reassemble because there was a springy piece of metal that had to go in the correct place (not easy).

After a considerable amount of swearing it is done and works perfectly.

Isn't the internet wonderful?

You can’t beat the original part number. As you say, the internet is amazing. Job well done. 👍

How much not including a £1.00 for the swear box EVERY TIME 🙄
