Swivel Seat Lock for Security (1 Viewer)

Well, after much deliberation I have decided to keep my 2018 Campscout and am currently planning some mods to make it better for solo travel. I have also been considering security and I have seen that many folks put a lock on the driver's seat to lock the swivel facing into the hab area to make the van difficult/impossible to drive. I had a quick look at my seat but with 2 batteries under the driver's seat, access is not simple.
Does anyone use a swivel seat lock on a Globecar with the leisure batteries under the driver's seat? If so, could you please share how you did it?
Thanks
Sue

My simple solution - heavy duty motorbike padlock and chain. The seats will not turn once chained. Ours is a Rapido van conversion, but expect same seats in the Campscout. Inexpensive on ebay - but pretty robust.

Not invincible however (to a determined thief with an angle grinder), but a handy additional deterrent. (y)

Looks good. Would hopefully put off the less determined villians.
Thanks

We drilled a hole in the base and use a motorcycle disc lock to stop the seat rotating. Much smaller to carry, and probably more difficult to remove than a chain & padlock.

If you are a solo traveller and would like another layer of cheap and easy security take a look here……….

There are a number of suggestions to make the straps even more robust, but as they are they will stop all but the most determined from getting in. Very easy to exit should you need to alight quickly. (y)

Thanks rb62 .
That's the thread that I had read (sorry, should have linked). It's just that with the leisure batteries under the seat, I'm not sure that I can fit the lock.
Wondering if other Globecar owners with the same setup have had success.

Most motorcycle disc locks slot on so in your case as long as the slot is wide enough might be better than the patriot one 👍

Some are alarmed. Just bought this one for our scooter, it can be turned off via Bluetooth and just armed while you're out.

After fitting a second battery, I had to re position the disk lock to here, not quite as convenient to fit, but just as effective.

Wow! So you get your morning yoga stretch done while putting the lock on! :giggle:
Thanks for the tip. I have a Titan waiting for me at home (the slot through disc lock version) so I'll see how that goes but if I need to go to this type, I'll certainly keep your solution in mind.
