Being nosey in Brownhills the salesman explained this Swift motorhome is aimed at the motor racing and equestrian market.

The photograph and the spec sheet don't match though, the photo and description belong to the IVECO chassis version and the spec sheet is for FWD Fiat.

They had the IVECO based one at the NEC, dont know if they sold any though:LOL:

Would of thought motor sport would of gone the rv route at that price.

Brownhills is the only dealer who supply that particular motorhome. I like it. Had a good look around one a month or so ago, perm 4 wheel drive, full air suspension, on board generator, gas tank etc etc.

It’s 4x4 then, can’t see the point in that but I like the idea of Iveco 3.0 same engine as Fiat great lump but not sure about the Swift bit (y)

I think it's 6x4 as in 4 driven wheels on the rear axle just like any other IVECO daily based motorhome.

Yes Martin I thought 4x4 meant all four corners drive but now it could be twin rear wheels that we used to know as RWD, I have not seen this van in the flesh.

We had a look around this when we stopped for lunch in Brownhills car park on the way home from Peterborough show. We were astounded at the price, for what?
Those drop down exterior lockers are ridiculous, way over engineered in sheet metal and a tiny storage space that we couldn’t figure what they would be useful for. The locker structure itself would weigh far more than what you might get in it.
We’d got tempted by the Hymer BMCi550 at Peterborough for £100k including about £7k of extras. In our opinion there was no comparison, the Hymer being way out in front.

Has swift got the right brand image and quality to charge that amount of money for a product.

I wouldn't even buy a golf ball if it had Swift written on the shell!!

From what I remember from my kontiki they would be more suited to Water Sports...

Drive shafts into the front wheels direct from gearbox, i got on the ground and looked.;) Makes sense when its marketed directly to motorsports and equestrian, lots of fields to park in.

Lyn and I used to own a Swift Kon-Tiki and it took us all over Europe without a single fault.

Considering how many brand new motorhomes we work on, I can honestly say that the Swift owners are as happy in the main, as any other owners.

I would happily order a Swift Kon-Tiki if I were in the market for a small motorhome, and did in fact go to have a look at the Iveco based one at the NEC

But, with no slide outs it is not for us

For that sort of money I would have wanted at least a damp course under it .

and it spectacularly fails ,it is more likely that the boss of swift saw his race competitors turn up in RS motorhomes and thought "i could do that" but the markets he is trying to sell in have customers who want something built to their spec not an off the shelf item

do you mean the fiat one? because the iveco is rear wheel drive and can have a difflock

I could buy a house in Spain with a private Swimming pool for that. In a reasonable neighbourhood and a small seas view too!.
So could we BUT we don't want to;) we already have a house in the UK and would much rather have a motorhome than another house.
