What do people use as matting to go under a Fiamma Sun canopy? I don't have a full awning, just the canopy.

Thanks

We use similar mats ,often on special offer from Aldi (y) Very useful on the continent when its dry and dusty.

I’ve seen people with these mats, but I don’t know why they have them really. Am I missing something????? Apart from hair, teeth, brain cells and wrinkle cream?! :ROFLMAO:

Isabella Bolon awning breathable groundsheet 3.0 depth. Does the job well

Lidl or aldi have same one for last 4/5 years (y)

Not used a lot in the last 12mths

I use to really like the Softex ground sheet, they were made of a type of molded rubber that was really lightweight, I haven't seen them for sale for a long time now.I would buy another if I cold find them

All over ebay ?

We recycled an Isabella ground sheet/carpet from the tin tent awning days, it's about 15yrs old and is really heavy duty. We bought it at a set size and cut it to fit the camper awning.

i have just got one 4 metres X 2.5 metres and folds up small. (y)

Thanks for that bit of advice Langtoftlad,Ive just ordered one.Cheers

Does this fold up easily. I don't have a great deal of storage space.
If its what I call a Morrocan mat they are made of plastic straws all stitched in the same direction and they roll up, they won't fold.
If you have a rear ladder it's normal to bungee it to the ladder.
As they are an 'open weave' they are accepted on grass sites as the grass can breath.

The original Moroccan mats will fold , that’s how he sells them at the shows, and that’s how we pack ours, but they are a bit bulky. Having said that we have a PVC and manage to squeeze a 3m x 3m one in the boot. They hose off nicely and are warm underfoot but over the years degrade and the plastic bits start coming off. We’re on our second in 10 years.

Other companies make them now that don’t seem as bulky, we bought one at a show, it’s thinner and shinier. We put it in the Quest in Beni which was fine but used outside it’s not as good when wet as it’s a bit slippery I fancy.

Yes Moroccan mat and it folds. We had one years ago and that rolled up. This new one is nowhere as good as my original one which I had for about 20+ years.
