I'm writing a short article about getting stuck and extricating yourself. I do have a few already but I'm looking for pictures of vans that are well and truly stuck. Could you please email me with any pics you might have. Cheers . mag@mhfun.co.uk

My front n/s wheel after coming out of the hole it 'fell' into on a campsite!

Surprisingly, managed to reverse out with help of traction control and sound ground under o/s wheel.

Let me know if you want either pic sent by email.

I never got stuck in the mud, but I've been stuck on wet grass many times. No pics though.

Emailed a few to you Jim.

Shame you didn't post this a few days ago!!

Picture the scene.... A isuzu trooper pulling a 7.5t lorry out of a quagmire. Mud everywhere, snapped a bloody expensive snap, basically burnt my clutch out on the trooper, ... But we got it out.....

She then sideswiped some harris fencing and completely destroyed It... Not a mark on the truck though... Built it stroong ?

I've only ever got properly stuck once (so far, watch this space) & that was on snow.
I spent years doing very serious off roading & extricating ambulances which others had got stuck.

You don't go through that kind of experience without learning a few wee tricks for overcoming adversity.
The last time my front wheel drive moho (Pug Boxer) wanted to go slipping & sliding was on wet grass & I needed to reverse uphill.
When all the power wants to go to one wheel, try tickling the brake pedal, that'll fool the diff into sending power to both wheels instead of just one.
With trial & error it's quite easy to master.

I can't guarantee that it'll work but, its better than kicking the tyres & shouting!

Not mud Jim, but does this count ?

Took two Spanish recovery trucks, one with HIAB, to get it out.

Arriving in the dark was not a good idea. A tractor later had much trouble extricating us. Mablethorpe camping and caravan site.

Looked at that picture and thought I don't remember getting stuck there. I then realised the last 2 letters of the Reg were not ours. Phew.

Just smiffy I remember your pics of being stuck in a sandy pitch? and the very nice fire service coming to your rescue

Not a motorhome but when I get stuck I do it proper! North Yorkshire putting up an electricity pole.
Two 8 tonne diggers got me back to the tarmac.
Thankfully it wasn’t me that made the decision to go into the field.

This happened before the days of (my) having Digital Camera`s, so no pic`s. One of the very first 4 slide Tag axle coaches to hit the UK came to a Festival. We, who had been many times, suggested he go on the hard, But no he wanted the field, took himself off the the far edge. Jacks down slides out. Come Sunday PM he is now not only spudded in with his jacks, when he finally gets them dug out he proceeds to dig himself near up to the axles. First attempt at getting out with the use of a 7.5tonner, fail! Eventually it took TWO HGV recovery vehicles to get him out. The Football club, who`s Training field it was, where less than impressed. Took a lot of "grovelling" to get permission to use it the following year.

Where we live. Anything that ends in "Carr" has been or is wetland. when they where building a small new estate in the 90`s, they had a 360 excavator on site. They went home for Xmas. When they came back to work you could just see the cab, if you looked hard!. They had to dig a trench before they could move it.

Although it doesn't look it, we were well and truly stuck in wet sand (mud?) at a campsite in Utrecht. Leaving the site, I turned onto what I thought was a solid path in front of partly built holiday homes. What may be of interest is how small the mini tractor was that extracted all 4.5 tonnes of our motorhome out of the hole.

I think the best one was Garry flatpackchicken sunk in his RV, and Nigel Sundowners pulling him out with his dodge demountable, you had to see it to believe it. ?
A tearful ending as Garry paid for all the extra large breakfast the next morning. ? Bob.

Ho for pics at the time !!!!!!! And Nigels Beast pulling 13tons of RV through mud what a site to see very funny now lol :-) :-)

We’ve been stuck several times.
Once on a CL. farmer with big tractor got us out.
On another CL (we asked before we arrived of ground was ok...yes they said) took a lot of getting out as no tractor!
Another CL wet grass got us & our little 3pot 107 got us off.
A gateway in France, turning round and slope in gateway too wet & steep. Workmen I flagged down came back with a huge machine.
Sorry Jim no pics.

Shame I did not take any pics of our Shogun extricating the MH from your site where he had been stuck for 2 days before we arrived with the caravan that you so kindly allowed us to stay with Jim
