I’ve had two activations this week both in hours of darkness and caused by microwave sensor. Suspects are spiders or mice. Can someone post a picture of what the sensor looks like and be more specific about its location. I’m led to believe it’s in the middle under or behind the glove compartment. Can’t see it so how is it accessed, Removal of compartment?
Vehicle is converted panel van Ducato
Thanks

I think it varies according chassis. Mine simply replaced the standard alarm sensor which is at the bottom of the dashboard in the middle. Little black box

Have you got any cables hanging loose on the dash, as these can affect the sensor?

Other than that give eddievanbitz a call rather than posting too many details on a open forum.

Give Ash at Vanbitz a call, I had this problem and it can be loose wires or if there is a rear window then movement outside the rear of the van could set it off. I always close my rear door blinds if I switch the Growler on.

Mine is at the bottom of the Center consol LHD next to accelerator pedal behind panel it’s a black box approx 75mm x50mm x 19 mm 😊👍
stuck on with double sided tape😊

Why, are people so willing to discuss security issues on a public internet forum?

If you have a problem, contact the supplier/installer.
With the internal sensor working it will have set the alarm off before any thief gets near it wherever it is😊 and in fact the main deterrent would have been the flashing led and signs telling you the van is protected by Strikeback👍

That's not what Sapper520 found!

Ah but the alarm worked and they scarpered 👍😊

Most half sensible thieves would have chosen another target. Stickers (both Strikerback Growler and VinChip markings), flashing neon lights, CCTV……..maybe they thought they were all dummies and I was trying to bluff them? 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

Sorry, If you have an issue talk to VanBitz. They are happy to help

Tis absolutely nuts to talk about security items / fittings / locations / defeats / etc / etc on an open forum.

I know where my sensors are but would never disclose it on an open forum.
That’s the whole idea of them being hidden.
Yes an d or tithing will recognise them but the average sh!T in the street won’t.
Anything to do with this I’d suggest contacting Vanbitz who’s service is second to none and would gladly assist.

Jim the I've thought better of my post as it may be misconstrued is no longer working!

i.e the delete draft.

Stick a mouse trap in and you’ll soon know if that’s the cause, someone on here had this problem and Eddie suggested mice, to the ops disbelief he put a trap down and captured quite a few.

We had ours triggered by the fridge door, which had been left ajar with a tea towel, opening on it's own a few days after we had left the van.

I now secure the door ajar with the little plastic catch.

It does not take much to trigger the devices, especially after a van 'settles' after a few days of not being used.
(or you have mice ......)

I had/have this problem.
Just a few days after install it was triggering every few hours. They kindly send my a new microwave unit. Dead easy to fit but probably best not to share on the open forum.
Now, had about one activation a month.
You can turn the sensitivity down, so maybe will have to go that route.
Still very happy with the system though.

Have managed to find it!! It appears to have come unstuck from its original position and can move about. The initial fall could have been the activation last weeek and yesterdays activation could have been movement also. Have now secured it back in original location, put a mouse trap inside, and reset everything. Trial period for a week to come. Thanks for all answers

When we first got the van & had the Growler Alarm fitted, everything was great until we went on a Fun Rally (make your conclusions:giggle:) it went off when we were in the Fun Marquee, the alarm blipped twice to let us know it had been activated in our absence.
I phoned Vanbitz, and was given some useful "Housekeeping Advice"
Do not have any phone charging leads hanging over the dash, do not keep any loose change in cupholders, make sure all is secure in heavy winds inside the van.
We were guilty of breaking the first two rules, removed all leads from USB/Charger sockets, and removed all coinage from cupholders.
Never had a problem since, all is good.(y)

We have nothing hanging near ours but it still goes off without reason, when it did it earlier this year I contacted VanBitz and they sent details of how to de-sensitise it, but it’s still going off.
live got to contact VanBitz again.
