Can anyone tell me what this switch is for? Picture attached. I cannot see it do anything.
The MH is a 2002 Fiat Ducato 2.8D only recently aquired. Previous owner did not know its use either.
Switch is wired to relay in engine bay with what looks like non standard two core. One wire crosses dash to glovebox area. It does light up in one position.

Has it got an extra light on the rear for when you're reversing so you can see what's behind you clearly?

Failing that it's to scare off giant jellyfish! :D

Welcome anyway even if we don't so far seem to have a clue what it does although I suspect it could be linked to beam height as already suggested.

I guess, given from your description it might have been added later, it might be for fog lamps now removed, possibly, but unlikely, an awning light, or a rear fog light if that looks as if it was added later.

I would check for any light which doesn't seem to be working, the bulb(s) might have gone.
:)

If you can't find what it does I suggest find something useful for it to do. For example the lights on your MH Christmas tree. :)

On and off for many years.
A google image search told me it was a switch (really? I would never have known that!!!)

I also think it is a non-standard addition, maybe a map reading light or something that may plug into a socket in the glove box as the wire leads there????

The icon on the switch looks like a headlight rather than a fog light - do you have a white light at the back of the van (possibly since removed) - some work vans and farm vehicles have these. Sorry but not sure if your van is a panel van conversion or it's history so really working a bit blind with the suggestions. I was going to say working in the dark but that is more @old-mo 's level of humour.

Well. I'm still scratching my head! However, I'm going with the 'scare off giant jellyfish'. Mainly because since I've had this MH I haven't seen a single jellyfish, but when I'm out in my small fishing boat I see lots of jellyfish and my boat dosen't have this switch.

It's actually upside down. It's telling you to drop your fag ash into a plant pot not the ashtray which is now used for coins and sweeties.
