And my friend who lives Benbecula says winds up to 90 miles an hour forecast for Christmas day.

Infinitely better that staying nearby forever.

So many plane accident reports quote "must get home" as the major cause.

Thank goodness I had 12 trees felled that were left vulnerable after the storms of last December which also took 12 down. Mind it would have been cheaper to let the wind take them down but a phonecall on Christmas saying your tree blocking the road or killed someone wouldn't be the best news.

How many people live in the areas likely to be affected by 60+ mph winds? Though if you are one of them it might be scary.

Hate when it's stormy
Done ok so far this winter sometimes we have had weeks of gales by now
We are well south in the yellow area for this one
Big Bertha we had a tree taken down that seemed healthy that I thought would come down into next doors property.
When it was felled it was very roten just above ground level.
Im sure it would have came down by now if it had been left, glad I had it done.
It kept a few folk in logs for a winter

The trees we had taken down are at our cabin near Oban it's goung to get quite rough there I think.

My ex wife is Scottish.

I see no inconsistency naming a storm Barbara
