Catching the ferry to Dublin tomorrow and intend to explore Southern Ireland. Advice on stopovers, wild camping and campsites would be very welcome.

We were In Southern Ireland a couple of years back. Luckily we had a toad as we would have found it very difficult with just the motor home. Ireland was not motorhome friendly - height barriers etc.
We found few laybys just to stop at. Everywhere signs stating 'no overnight camping'.
However we spoke to a few people who said that with a nice looking GB reg motor home the police would not take too much notice. The signs are for the tinkers!!
Plenty of pubs seem happy for us to stop at. Enjoy the Guineas.

I can't offe any personal experience but there is an app which contains details of parking both wild and sites.
The app itself is free but contains basic details for the full info you need to pay a £5 subscription. I am led to believe it is very useful.
Google motorhomecraic and the app details are contained within the website.

A few great Brit Stops over there. Paidi O se's pub (Paddy O'Shea) in Ventry on Dingle being particularly memorable. Plus we stayed free at at Howth yacht club pier only a handful of miles from Dublin port, and in the car park at the Cliffs of Moher, and of course Crossmolina aire on the lovely Clare Conn, and Cobh aire.this years Brit Stops has about 40 stops in Eire.

When we did Eire never had any problems wild camping, water easy to obtain from harbours, always a tap on the pier for the fishermen. Only thing we found a bit awkward was disposing of rubbish, very few rubbish bins often a big bin in Lidl car parks.

We did the wild atlantic way 2500 miles and spent a month wild camping 2 years ago plenty of toilets / water along the way and loved it, you can stop at marinas if you follow the rivers and buy a card to use the showers / washing machines. (y)
We will be back the Irish are so friendly and we never saw that many motorhomes nothing like visiting europe, and very relaxing. Bob.

Would like to echo above posts, it's a great place to visit did the Atlantic Way two years ago no problem finding places to stay or getting water. The place is so clean but as above very few bins? Brit Stops good also you could join Motorhome Craic. Will be back as soon as we can, Enjoy.
