Two wheel job towed.

Waste valve has become very stiff and not wishing to break anything have given a dose of silicone spray to handle area and inside tank. Not been able to reach mechanism as tank has an outer casing for frost proofing.
A bit of moving open/closing seems to have eased it.

Looks like you may be able to remove the valve via a few screws as seen in the image.

if you can remove it the drop it into some hot water with soapy liquid in it and then start easing the tap part.
open and close the fact it will be warm will prevent cold cracking .

the trouble with waste tap / valves is they get clogged up with all sorts including scale.

and cleaning and easing them could be put on the periodical maintenance list.

when eased and fully working Vaseline is a good lubricant on plastic. But never use grease.

wax oil is ok but tends to dry and harden slightly.

Removing the top part may be necessary yet but I’m not sure what the linkage to the valve in the bottom of the tank consists of so as silicone spray has improved operation I will leave it for the time being.
If need be I can leave the valve open as when on site I either drain to pitch where available or drain directly to tote tank so holding tank never fills.

My Hymer has a different linkage I think, more like a bike brake cable , which needed pulling to open, then pushing to close

Ours failed, luckily open or more or less it’s impossible to see, but I added a ball valve to the end of the outlet pipe with easy external access to open and close

Might just be a simpler option for you if the valve is hard to get out 👍 I wasn’t brave enough to even try removing ours which the original is a blade valve welded to the grey tank 😳

There is an access plate through the outer skin of the tank under the rear but little room to get at it unless on a ramp so that’s a job for another day.
