does anyone have any tips on how to get old pitted & rusty wheels looking better than in the photo please? don't say buy New ones either.

A local company charge £50 per ALLOY wheel from dropping off to finished product.
Instead of lacquer, steel wheels could be painted/coated.
Yes that was for a bare steel wheel, they did offer a menu of options. I remembered it was more if powder coat and more again if 2 colour

I looked into this and managed to get new steel wheels for less than £50 a pop.
 
I would go for paint rather than powder coating on steel wheels
Or you go for the bigger wheel trims

Didn't know I could get full size wheel trims for this wheel type. Must look into it.
 
Plenty on eBay, around £18-£25. Need to be deep dish
