I know some have had stainless exhausts fitted but at what cost?
It's an old transit but an exhaust is an exhaust.

In my limited experience about the same price as an OEM exhaust.

Wow not mine we’ve just had one on the Motorhome, Iveco 40C 17 2005, it cost just less than £180 fitted
I got a price for a stainless one in Darlington over £600, the original one had lasted over 15 years so went with the cheap.

That's the sort of price I had in mind.
My mate, the one with the unknown model van, has just taken his in to a local company.... Complete new stainless system including twin header pipes to cylinder head.... £1500 :Eeek:
He never asks me first.

My 17y old one got to an unrepairable state (baked beans cans don't seem to be as heat-resistant as they used to be :giggle: ) so I took the plunge 2y ago and had a stainless side-exit pipe made up and fitted (NOWHERE could provide one with the correct fittings/bends). It came to £300 but finding a company prepared to take it on was a slight problem.

I had a stainless steel exhaust system fitted with an additional Vortex system incorporated into it too, cost £800 and that included moving exhaust further towards the back too. The vortex system definitely increases the power as now it powers up mountains in Spain in top gear (at 6.5t train weight with car and trailer) but before the vortex system I used to drop at least 2 gears (5/4th) I gave a Frankia i8000 Mercedes engine 2001 model. Very expensive but will last life of Mh now (hopefully another 20 years) and lifetime guarantee. Vortexexhaust.com is in Grays in Essex and will make any exhaust system for any mh while you wait!!!!!!!!

Around 10 years ago I had one custom made for £300. At the time the standard Ducato exhaust was £180 + an extension tailpipe was needed. As I said - limited experience.
