Out for a walk the last two days, a pair of Egrets on the river Cole, a Woodpecker really getting stuck into assaulting a tree and three pairs of Tufted Ducks on Trittiford Mill pond.

I used to live quite near the River Cole - as kids we were warned to stay away from it, more like an open sewer than a river in those days. Understand it's now been cleaned up a bit.

We walk around the paths surrounding junction 4 M42 in Solihull most days, always amazed at the number of kestrels to be seen. Never saw them when I was growing up.

Much cleaner now from near Shirley Station through to Sarehole Mill and on to Stratford Road is country park.

So nice to see the photos , this brings back memories as that was my local park when I was growing up.
