You could try white vinegar or bleach. But @pappajohn 's suggestion is probably the only one that'll work. I only used one bottle of blue as I wondered what the hell was used in the dye.

This is the Cossh sheet for Elson Blue

http://www.partinfo.co.uk/files/Elsan Blue toilet fluid_SDS_rev 6.pdf

It reads as wonderful stuff - Kill or injure just about anything it comes into contact with.

But spillages -
"Absorb with inert, absorbent material. Sweep up. Transfer to suitable, labelled containers for disposal. Clean spillage area thoroughly with plenty of water."

To neutralise, yes..... To remove.... Not a chance. :xgrin:

Anyone who has splashed any on their hands knows how long it takes to remove, usually as dead skin is shed..... Worse than engineers blue on skin and I had that on my face for over a week......looked like a bloody Smurf.

Won’t use the blue liquid nw, tabs only. Pink stuff just as permanent, tried everything I could think of, bleach etc. to get it out of the MH carpet but no luck.

reminds me, I have a caravan cover in the attic which came with a van i bought a while back. the previous owner used it a few times then spilt a load of thetford blue on it under the fixed bed. most of the stain came off the floor of the caravan, but not off the cover

If I ever want to cover a stained area before recovering or repainting I use PVA. Bloody marvellous stuff, covers up a multitude of sins. May help you in this situation.

It is terrible stuff for staining anything it comes on contact with. The moral is don't use it in future, I haven't used it for years, not only stains but stinks.

Which reminds me of a N+B Flair that was for sale a couple of years ago, the walls in the garage are carpeted and they had had some sort of explosion of Elsan blue and it was all up the wall, never to come out.

What a mess.

Brewers Yeast Tablets

They won't remove Elsan blue staining
But use them instead of Elsan Blue
NO stains
Environmentally friendly
Inexpensive
light in weight
Takes about 12th of the room of a bottle of Elsan blue

Brilliant

Anyone know of a way to clean toilet fluid from the floor. Cap came loose in the garage
Much to my shock the thing that worked best was baby wipes !! Still have a residual mark and each rime i give it a clean the wipes are bright blue.

I almost laughed at that but wasn't quite sure the etiquette.
