Hi.
You could try this in your defence.... " Onlee Wonccce " Allo allo allo... ( Buxton to Ashbourne A515 Old Roman road.= Straight line ) Some/MANY years ago... Speeding..Over 50mph in a goods vehicle and over the 60 mph national limit." In my letter i wrote..As i came out of Buxton, the sun was shining,i was in a new to me lorry,God was in his heaven, all was right with the world. As i had just swapped from an old motor to this one,i did not realise how fast i was going."
All the mates said i was about to be locked up for life, however,i was only charged with the over 50mph and never heard another word about the over 60mph. Mind you,my botttom was going " Half a crown sixpence.." waiting for the outcome.. 🚛 🚛 (y)..
Tea Bag.
PS. They used to test Rolls Royce and Land Rovers up and over there some years ago.................. Should have got a job with them....;);)

Within the 10% plus 1 or 2 guidelines ,,,,,,,,,,,,but in kilometers not MPH! Try explaining to a Gendarme that you saw the sign 130 and thought that was MPH , they dont wear it! Escort straight to cash machine, E500 thank you very much, no cash? we will have the vehicle thank you very much! Not me I hasten to add but a bunch of mates a few years ago, I was in *bimble mode* and left them to it!

Hi.
Correction to my above post at 4.27. Should read " 40mph not 50mph. " I have allways been treated fairly by the Traffic police................. Well........ They DID once hide an 110 Land Rover Defender, with ALL its lights/gear on the roof, behind a " Cats eye " in BROAD DAYLIGHT !! But thats another story............;);)(y)🚛🚛🚛

I'll bet it's disregarded as a defence if you do exceed the official limit.
You can go online at Trafico & they give the location of all fixed speed cameras in Spain , where located & the speed at which they are set. The ones locally on the autovia before the tunnels used to be set at 141km/h for the 120 limit. Also up to 151km/h in a 120 limit is only a 100€ fine (reduced 50% for residents :dance2: ) & no points .

I know nothing about the law in Spain but in England you can be done for doing 31 in a 30. If you’re over, you’re over as far as the law is written. These’s no wriggle room.

That’s why it pays to be nice to plod when he stops you.

I was pulled over for speeding in a 30. Got out of the car, immediately appologised, asked him how his day was, was generally pleasant etc. He advised I got a sat nav which indicates speed limits, told me to glance down at my speedo from time to time and let me go!

I’m convinced I sweet talked my way out of a ticket.

Can’t sweet talk a camera though. 🎥

Off with his head! 😄😄

Got snapped once 74 on A1 at 3.00am, so beware anything over the posted limit is enforceable

I can't speak for Spain, but when I ran our community spedwatch lact October we were given a limit of 30mph +10%+2. Anyone over that got reported and received a telling off letter from the Chief Constable. I was told that fixed cameras follow the same rules in most (not all) police areas. Mobile cameras and police hand held guns apply whatever limit they choose at the time. 31 in a 30 is not uncommon, this is because they usually only do it at known speeding/accident hot spots.

Nicest speeding ticket I ever got was from a cop on South Island New Zealand. Apologised for having to issue it and hoped it wouldn't spoil our holiday, then proceeded to tell us of some decent places to get lunch and where to visit. A really decent guy! Add to that I won a prize from the tour leaders as the only motorhome to get a ticket during the 4 weeks. I'm still chuffed about it.:giggle:

There used to be a Gatso, just North of Berwick, which we reckon was set down to a tad over 40. to catch the HGV`s exceeding the (Then) Limit. It flashed me Going North in the R-V. perhaps assuming I was an LGV?. never heard anything obviously. I was also rumoured that one on the A15 just before Scampton was similarly adjusted too?. Those BTW have been replaced by a section of "average speed" devices.
