None really, as my van is european most parts are available and space is always valuable. Water pump failed this year, part was on shelf in Spanish dealers at 80euros, 20euros to fit, so why carry one?

I carry a small toolkit, including electrical bits, wire, and crimp connectors. Duct tape. Lot of lengths cable ties. The only spares I carry are bulbs and fuses. No room to carry stuff I don't plan on needing.
Like he said.

A spare water pump is definitely a good idea as it's mission critical if the wife's around, us blokes just go commando.
After that it's just fuses and a few basic tools, multimeter, gaffer tape, super glue etc. Some go equipped with power tools and a full workshop but I wouldn't bother.

Some spare 12 mm push fit fittings. We have found them difficult to find in Europe. Even dealerships don’t have them.

Our van is getting old so we carry a wide range of stuff - my tool kit works for the mountain bikes as well as the motorhome we always carry bulbs and fuses whatever the vehicle
I have a lot of little bits that break easily stashed away and some stuff that I probably don't need

I carry a spare water pump, which is very small and light, and have a small hand tool kit with various things such as meter, spanners, screwdrivers, Allen keys and cutters etc.

I also have some duct tape, cable ties, light bulbs and various fuses like others here.

I may update my haul looking at some of the responses here (y)

I don't carry as many spares / tools as some of the people above but I do take a set of torx / security bits for screwdriver. There are a few of these screws on my van and you're stuck without the correct bits.

Don't forget to add "phone charging leads" to your list of spares to carry. :giggle:

I don’t even carry a spare wheel let alone a Jack. Breakdown insurance is the way to go.

Small tool kit with fuses, tape, hose clips, and other odds and sods..

If I had a submersible water pump I would carry at least two .. in my experience they fail regularly .. never had a Shurflo fail, so don't carry one... in any case, when I bought the van I fitted a new pump, so.. fingers crossed.

Also carry a 12v tyre inflater and emergency puncture repair kit, jump leads , multimeter, WD40 , gaffer tape,

When we have had problems abroad I have found motorhome dealers there to be much more willing to help than in the UK and on the same day. Given the number of foreign made motorhomes it would actually be more logical to carry less spares there than in the UK
