My Mercedes Sprinter Hymer MLT 580 (2018) did not come with a spare wheel (nor anyplace to store a spare wheel)

Questions:

It looks like Sprinters are supplied with 15" and 16" wheels - Am I correct in presuming this is the diagonal measurement of the metal bit of the wheel rim to rim ?

Is there such a thing as a 'get you home' spare wheel for a Sprinter base ?
I'm thinking something that is half the thickness (and half the weight) that would be good for say 100 miles at 40 mph

Am I OK just buying an old Sprinter wheel off a scrappy ? (once I know the size)

Not long enough!
Alloy and steel rims use different size bolts.
I store my spare in the garage.

I have an MLI540, steel spare wheel fitted to the nearside back wall of the garage. As Theonlysue has said, the steel wheel has different length bolts to the alloy rims.

No, they don't do space savers for vans.
If buying a second hand or aftermarket rim make sure it has the correct load rating.
